Re: [Bes-admins] Fwd: Blackberry manager showing nothing inthe bottompane (SOLVED)

2010-09-15 Thread dyzsilver
We're running 4.1.7 with the latest MR on SBS2k3 (therefor exchange 2k3) and
IE8 happily together. Perhaps there is a hotfix you installed which makes your
environment different. Are you running sql or msde?

Could you elaborate on what you mean by your BES being hosted?

To be clear, we are running BES 4.1.7 on a windows 2003 server.

IE8 seems fine on 2008R2, but breaks a number of our web apps on older versions
of the server.

Just curious, which version of BES do you have peacefully co-existing with IE8?
And is IE8 native to your server version, or backported by Windows update?

Which version server are you using? We have IE8 and see not experiencing this
issue.

Also, you mention hosted BES, could you elaborate on this and the access you
have?

Re: [Bes-admins] Fwd: Blackberry manager showing nothing inthe bottompane (SOLVED)

2010-09-15 Thread Art Alexion
We are running Windows Server 2003R2 Enterprise with MSDE.

IE8 has not caused any problems in our network when run in a native OS, like
Win7 or Server 2008R2, but we have seen a lot of mischief with IE dependent
apps when the IE is a backport to server 2003 or XP Pro. Lawson is another
SQL/IE dependent system where IE8 has caused problems.

Ultimately, just removing IE8 and rebooting fixed all of our problems with BES.
My guess (I don't really know) is that Blackberry Manager 4.1 uses the IE
engine to render the status pane and right click menus.
