If you're not actively limiting to the seed track genre MusicIP is
genre-agnostic, it will return anything that sounds similar according to
the acoustic analysis. MusicIP by default doesn't use any tag info for
generating its mixes, only its own database (default.m3lib file)

Just a stray thought I had this morning during my commute: wouldn't it
be possible to modify the "random" function of SugarCube to pull in a
track from DSTM according to it's settings and continue to do so until
it gets a track which does give a result?

I've only recently reactivated my Tidal account, and without this box
ticked I can't browse Tidal through the web interface
Code:

There was an error loading the remote feed for TIDAL: (Connect timed out:
Bad file descriptor)

With it ticked, browsing works perfectly. As I'm doing this through
Teamviewer from work on my machine at home, I can't say if playing would
work any better than in previous months if at all ...

I have indeed added 1 album since installing that machine. Given that
this is a completely clean Ubuntu 18.04 Server install that's only 2
weeks old I didn't really think it was useful to do a rescan with the

[SlimDevices: Beta] CROSSPOST: Did I discover a Random Mix-bug in LMS 7.8?

there. This worked perfectly on the configuration below:

Code:

   Logitech Media Server Version: 7.7.3 - 1375965195 @ Mon Aug 12 11:14:33 CUT
2013
   Hostname: BKSB01

   Database Version: DBD::SQLite 1.34_01 (sqlite 3.7.7.1)
2 synchronised players: Squeezelite on Windows 8 + Squeezelite on Wandboard

I also have a Wandboard with CSOS on it, and there instead of 1 random
song it spits out 2 songs, most of the time totally inappropriate
(e.g. Sarah K. followed by Bathory ...), with Spicefly Sugarcube of
course, as configured picking up from the last song in the playlist.
 CSOS info:

Code:

2 synchronised players: Squeezelite on Windows 8 + Squeezelite on Wandboard

As you see, the only differences are the OS the LMS version. To try
and level the field I've upgraded my Windows LMS to the latest
nightly, and lo and behold, now it's got the same behaviour. Current
 Windows LMS info:

I got this info from the Spicefly forums. It seems that some specific
things it uses are left out in the latest 7.6 builds.
Since it's the only plug-in I use (I even donated), I wanted to be

[SlimDevices: Beta] SQLite vs mySQL

2011-03-27 Thread bakker_be

Hi there, since Spicefly Sugarcube will stop supporting mySQL I tried to
switch back to SQLite, but to my regret found out that the server
doesn't want to start after making the switch. The server process goes
to 50% and around 140MB of memory and just stays there :(
I tried the Squeezebox Server instance of mySQL (following
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showpost.php?p=592763postcount=7) and it
started within 30 seconds. I then switched back to my own mySQL instance
as it's 64-bit.
Squeezebox Server properties (running my own mySQL instance):

Code:

In a totally unrelated post I read that we could switch to MySQL using

Seems SQLite + my ~44000 song collection + Server 2008 R2 are not a

Another thing I noticed (running SC 7.4-267xx on Fedora 10): After a
power surge, my library came back with almost 4,000 songs missing
 (roughly 24,000 instead of 28,000). (fsck didn't report any problems;
MusicIP headless also reported the full number of tracks.)

This never happened with the MySQL version, probably some flush-to-disc
 or COMMIT missing?

A clear rescan all using r26797 brought back the missing tracks.

On my Windows 7 RC, clear rescan didn't solve a thing. Even
removing SC and all related folders, rebooting and reinstalling didn't
do the trick. I went through the whole removal again, installed a
MySQL-build, and my songs were back.

Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] 7.4 nightlies - important info

2009-06-04 Thread bakker_be

There seems to be something wrong with the scanner in 7.4-26820. It sees
about 1000 songs less in my collection???
I just reinstalled the last MYSQL-version I still had lying around
(26509) and it sees 25627 songs whereas 26820 only sees 24434. I've
returned to the MYSQL-version as this seemed to be generally more
reliable.
This doesn't mean I'm not willing to try out newer versions, but it'll
have to wait until I can set up a parallel system ;)

EDIT: File is too large :-( only 20MB allowed and it's 47MB

EDIT 2: Uploading APE-file in 18 MB chunks (multipart RAR-archive)

I can now confirm BUG 12082 to be fixed. I've just upgrade to the
latest nightly, but the previous one worked fine too.
It does however take quite a bit longer to scan than the MySQL-version
did. It seems to be around 30%slower on my library (25381 songs, roughly
an even split between MP3 FLAC, with some APE, WMA and MPC thrown in
for seasoning).
thnx for the bugfix!

Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] 7.4 nightlies - important info

2009-05-17 Thread bakker_be

It seems the new scanner doesn't like lossless APE-files. It's been
scanning at my 25K library for an hour now (for the fifth time) and
never gets past the one album I have in lossless APE, somewhere around
track 9157. The previous version didn't have this problem, and did a
complete scan (purge and rescan everything) in about 45 minutes.

Hi,
Maybe it's something else, but I just installed the nightly update and
my Music Collection was cleared, needing a total rescan.
Server Log attached.
