Re: multi master primary nameserver.
Hello I wanted to ask how could be possible in some way to have 2 or more multi master name servers authoritative for one domain, instead of the classical master slave model. Simple thing to do. I have a test lab here that I did this in a few years ago. 2 masters and 4 slaves. The setup was simple. Configure Master A to be a slave of Master B. Configure Master B to be a slave of Master A. Configure all slaves whit both masters. Or simply provision two or more masters identically, from a common database backend. Re: Can bind log the IP of clients requesting lookups to a domain?

I tried once to do this but couldn't find a any way to do it natively with Bind. It seems that, once you turn on query logging, you must take it or leave it; It's up to you to do the filtering on the log afterwards. I'm a little confused about the SOA and ns records in the zone file, should be ours (ISP) or customers DNSs! The same applies for reverse and forward zones. There's no difference here. If you can properly configure forward zone, do the same for reverse. -- Matus UHLAR - fantomas, uh...@fantomas.sk ; http://www.fantomas.sk/ Warning: I wish NOT to receive e-mail advertising to this address.
