There used to be an example in a directory in the BIND tarball, in 
contrib/dnspriv/

I've activated Bind's statistics, to test I've set port 8080.
So I can make http requests on port 8080, it works.

but i'd like to secure the page, is it possible to switch to https and

therefore use an SSL certificate?

put a real webserver in front of it. Both Apache and Nginx can work as proxy.
