[Ontbirds] Gyrfalcon in Barrie - NOT
Birders, After a thorough analysis of my and some better photos, it is evident that the large falcon in Barrie yesterday was a juvenile Peregrine. A bird, which was undoubtedly the same individual, was seen by other local birders again this morning in the same area. Apologies for the false alarm. [Ontbirds] Orange crowned warbker, peregrine falcon - Humber bay Easr, toronto
The O.C. Warbler was on the small hill next to (just south) the small bridge a bit east of main parking lot. Superb views. Seen at 12 noon. Just before that, a peregrine was feasting on a pigeon near eastern tip of park. Was on a tree stump 15 feet high, providing exceptional views. From Lakeshore, go south at Parkland Rd. and park at main lot. Good birding. Jack Alvo ___ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
