[Ontbirds] Neotropic Cormorant - Lynde Shores CA

My TOC group and I just came across the Neotropic Cormorant at the same 
location it was previously seen this fall off of the west side of cranberry 
marsh from the viewing platform.

Park in the paid parking lot off of Bayly and walk a km down the road until you 
get to the viewing platform.

Just checked the flooded field where the male Ruff was previously reported and 
it is not here. There are very few shorebirds here as compared to yesterday.

[Ontbirds] Pacific Loon - Minets Point, Barrie

Luke Berg has just refound the pacific Loon off of Minets point park in Barrie. 
It has a pale throat, silver nape, and large white splotches on the back. Not a 
ton of loons but all 3 species are here. Also a few little gulls. 

Minets point park is at the end of Minets point road off of lakeshore road in 
Barrie.

[Ontbirds] Pacific Loon - Minets Point Park. Barrie

There is currently an alternate plumage pacific Loon swimming amongst a couple 
hundred common loons at Minets point park in Barrie. 

Also nine little gulls. 

This park is on the south side of Kempenfelt bay. Take Essa road exit off of 
400, turn right on tiffin st, left on minets point road, follow to a parking 
lot.

There is currently a juvenile Black-legged Kittiwake Sir Adam Beck generating 
station lookout. It is flying around fishing. 

Take QEW to the 406. Take exit to Stanley Ave and turn left. Turn right at the 
end of the road. Follow to the roundabout. Take the first exit onto Niagara 
parkway heading south. About 2 km down the road, parking will be on the left 
hand side.

side of house #1596 on the edge of the overgrown field.

Hi all. Owen Strickland has just texted me to say he is currently (6:07 pm) 
watching a singing sedge wren at Tommy Thompson Park. The bird is at Pipit 
Point which is the farthest south point on the east shore of the park. 

Tommy Thompson Park (or the Leslie St Spit is located at the foot of Leslie 
street in the east end of Toronto. Take the DVP south to the end or take the 
Gardener east to the end to lakeshore blvd. go eastbound on Lakeshore Blvd to 
Leslie St and turn right. Follow to the end. Tommy Thompson Park is open on 
weekends and holidays. It is open on weekdays after 4:30pm.

[Ontbirds] Neotropic Cormorant - Tollgate Ponds

The neotropic cormorant is sleeping with double crested cormorants at tollgate 
ponds. It put its head up briefly to show the white line separating the Orange 
facial skin with black body feathers.

Tollgate ponds are in Hamilton.  Exit Eastport Drive south just past the

[Ontbirds] Gyrfalcon - Sudbury

West end business park. Brown juvenile came from southview over the floodplain. 
Viewed by Henrique Pacheco, David Pryor, Deborah Pacheco, and Jim Carrey. Did 
not stay long at all. Great looks from behind the arena. 

West end business park behind the arena/training centre off Kelly Lake Rd.

[Ontbirds] Laughing Gull - Wheatley Harbour

I am currently watching a first/second year laughing gull swimming in the water 
at Wheatley Harbour. The bird has a partial hood. It occasionally flies but 
soon lands. Associating with rb gulls. 

Take the 401 to Queens line just west of Chatham-Kent to Tilbury. Turn south on 
Wheatley road which turns into Kent Road 1 which turns into Erie street. Take 
Erie street all the way to the end. The bird is in the water off the beach on 
the east side.

We lost sight of the gull when hundreds of gulls took flight. We have not been 
able to relocate the bird since 12:39pm.

Bobwhite out perched on an open branch, singing. On Tenth side road about 500m 
south of ridge road. 

QEW to 50 road, south to ridge road, west to tenth and go south till you hear 
it. Like Len said, it's loud.

A male harlequin duck was seen on the eastern side of Rotary Park heading east 
towards Prince of Wales Park. Last seen at 10:25 when it went out of sight 
towards Prince of Wales Park. The duck was very close to shore. 

Rotary Park is east of Colonel Samuel Smith Park at Kipling and Lakeshore road 
east.
