[blfs-dev] MPlayer 1.2 released
I'm posting just to inform, because don't think we want to change what we are doing updating for each BLFS release. The release jokes with those who were using previous release: * you aren't using a 3 years old release, hopefully* *If you are, read on and find out what you missed!* {{{ News 2015-10-03, Saturday :: MPlayer 1.2 released posted by the release team FrameCounter Our latest release was getting stale, so it's time to make a new one. Mplayer 1.2 is compatible with the recent FFmpeg 2.8 release. The tarball already includes a copy of FFmpeg, so you don't need to fetch it separately. Due to some big API changes coming to FFmpeg, this release will not work with new FFmpeg master branch, nor with future FFmpeg releases. If you want to follow the latest improvements in MPlayer and FFmpeg, you are strongly encouraged to use Subversion HEAD and benefit from the latest features and bug fixes. You know how to do it. Because you aren't using a 3 years old release, hopefully. If you are, read on and find out what you missed! ... }}} -- []s, Fernando, aka Sísifo -- http://lists.linuxfromscratch.org/listinfo/blfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page

In previous versions of MPlayer, if you have the start of a file downloaded, you could start playing it, and as the new data was being downloaded, the playback would continue through the area that didn't exist when it started. Then, about 3 years ago, that feature went away so now you have to restart the playback when you consume the part of the file that existed when you started playing. If they brought it back, all will be forgiven. - -- Svi moji e-mailovi su kriptografski potpisani. Proverite ih. All of my e-mails are cryptographically signed. It also links against a recent ffmpeg, has fixed the strange mplayer syntax command line options, can use all available hardware acceleration like vdpau, libva, etc. -- http://lists.linuxfromscratch.org/listinfo/blfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
