I took them down a while ago but I might still have them on an external
drive. Since that system is currently powered up and I need to access
something on it shortly I will also look and see if those files are still
available or not.

Good morning, I am hoping that I can get some assistance from someone.
Awhile back I visited the
jaws users list website, and found two sets of files.
1.
Sound wav files for Microsoft Word, and 2. and an extensive group of wav
files of different types.
I just recently reformatted my computer and unfortunately these two
items
I forgot to back up.
If there is anyone out there who knows or remember what I am speaking
of,

and could assist me in getting them back, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thank you in advance.

Honestly we have yet to discuss the details in person so to speak, so far
only over email. This is Rick's brain child it just falls under my domain
since we changed over to Mailman six years ago.

Like I said and Rick has also stated we have to draw a line somewhere so
that is probably where the DMZ will land.

Hi Alan,
If we don't draw the line somewhere, this list will be nothing more than a
copy of the blind-tech list, which was not my desire when I created this
list in 2007.
At the time the list was started, the focus was laptops and desktop PCs and
their peripherals.
Now that the list belongs to Dave, he will always have the final say in any
decision and the management team will follow his lead.
If you think about it, technically, most of todays electronics can be
considered computers of sorts, but they are not within the scope of this
list.
Cel phones may be used for many things these days, but they are still
phones.

Just to add my two cents, but if you are going to add all you say, I
feel the IPhone should be included too as most use much more as an I

Hi Mike,

Just some suggestions, since there's a lot open there.
Your friend indicates first, that he is having a problem in Microsoft
word, that he can't type anything there. he then goes on to say, that he
can't type anything in email or in Internet Explorer either.

So, can he type anything (like in any other program), at all? or does he
mean that he can type and it comes out ok but that JAWS isn't echoing it
in any way? (That can be fixed, as you know.) has he tried typing with a
demo of another screen reader, or a free one? How about the keyboard? Is
that OK? (If it were Microsoft word alone, I'd be tempted to think it
might be he's in Outline View or has master Document or Document map or
the equivalent, checked.

Hi GM,

Have you tried the, Insert + 2, keystroke for changing the Jaws echo setting
or, the, Jaws + S, keystroke for changing screen echo? For Jaws echo I have
mine set on characters for screen echo I set mine on, highlighted.
Take care.

 Hi GM,

I posed your problem to another list the replies are below.

 Your question:
Good morning I seem to be having some difficulty with Microsoft Word 2007.
Not able to read anything I type in the document, internet, or my email.
 I'm
using Jaws 11.0 and Windows Vista.
I've even maximized the window with no success, even performed a repair.
What am I doing wrong, and could someone help me solve the problem?
 It would be greatly appreciated.
 Thank you in advance.

Also having the same problem with the same setup. Makes me wonder if Jaws
11 is compatible with Office 2007?

it is. But JAWS11 has a somewhat flaky reputation, as is borne out by
some of my own experiences with it.

 Flor

 Take care.

 Hi GM,

Have you possibly locked your left mous key? To check, press your,
 Insert
key + NumPad slash / left mouse key. Jaws will report either, left
 button
locked or left button unlocked, you want it unlocked.
 HTH
 Take care.

2013-05-19 Thread Mike B.
Hi GM,

Here are a couple of things to look at but, first I need to say that I don't
run Vista nor do I run Jaws11.

Go to the control panel display .

In Display make sure that on the Desktop page that is set on, Bliss, on the
Screensaver page it is set on none, on the Settings page it is set for
1024 by 768.

Also, did you install any programs or toolbars that might be interfering
with Jaws? Or, what exactly did you do directly before this problem began?
Take care.

Highlighted is always best when it comes to screen echo.
