I had no idea there were more than two goblin chieftain keys until I
raced along the great bridge with only two of them, opened the first
two gates, and was barred from the third. I traced my steps back,
found the third chieftain, got the key from the corpse, and headed
back across the great bridge, just to find the first gate barred and
asking for a key. So, it seems to me this would be a flaw in game
play. I assumed since the keys vanished from my inventory when I used
them that they would eventually respawn, but so far no. I hope this
doesn’t mean I’m going to have to start all over … can someone give me
a clue?

Thanks in advance,

Re: [blind-gamers] Looking for a handheld game controller.

2018-02-06 Thread Paul Lemm
Hi,

I don't know if it would be accessible with the games you mentioned, but I
recently picked up an XBox 360 controller to play a heroes call with. It’s a
good controller, if you buy the wired Microsoft one and own a windows pc
then you can just plug it in via USB and windows will automatically install
the required drivers, although like I said I'm not sure whether it would
work with the games you mentioned as I imagine that comes down to how the
game was coded and its gamepad support, although note the wireless
controllers need further hardware to communicate with your PC. The
controller itself though has a left and right analogue stick , a standard
four way directional pad, 4 main buttons , a further 4 trigger buttons and
a start, select and XBox button so 11 in total. In a hero's call they
utilise the analogue sticks as buttons too, so pressing in either the left
or right sticks works as a further button, allowing for two more keys , also
in a heroes call since the right analogue stick isn't used for movement
they assigned up, down left and right to all perform different tasks too.
But again I guess it comes down to the game coding as to whether the
controller would work and whether it would allow you to customise each of
these buttons, oh and although I can't say for certain, but I'm pretty sure
all Microsoft Xbox controllers come with force feedback and I managed to buy
my for about only £11.

Ron,
You might try to contact AbleGamers regarding the handheld unit. They are
very knowledgeable about these types of controllers and might have some
suggestions.
