What he means is a currency that doesn't fluctuate with the market.
Bitcoin is in its infancy compared to actual currency. And everything
that follows is, basically, an offshoot of bitcoin. It's not a stable
revenue source for companies to depend on which is why so few sites
actually use bitcoin, and if they do it's always a secondary option.

Re: [blind-gamers] Has GameCredits been used in blind-accessible gamesyet?

2018-03-03 Thread Tyler Zahnke
Yes. The GameCredits coin is similar to bitcoin but it's more obscure
right now, except in gaming circles. And people can buy games with
them, or win in-game achievements, or exchange them either for cash or
other things that can be exchanged for cash, like bitcoin. If you're
really afraid of "schemes", you can always check sites like
CoinTelegraph and CoinSutra, and sites like that love GameCredits
right now.

Re: [blind-gamers] Has GameCredits been used in blind-accessible gamesyet?

2018-03-03 Thread Shaun Everiss

I actually agree.

The digital currency is a nice thing, its not traceable and its private.

But sadly all the hackers use it.

I get constant sharing and spam scam calls to my house and my mobile
daily sometimes 5-10 calls a day at morning noon or night asking me to
buy into one scheme or another.

Hackers also managed to raid the exchange and there are talks about
bitcoin either going  away or having to be regulated.

If it is regulated, its most probable that the governments will be
installing all sorts of spyware to see where it goes.

Its not worth it, it fluctuates to much anyway.

Now if there was a way to make it so credits could be earned but could
be shelled out for other games, other products, actual cash even if it
was through paypal then maybe I'd bite.

Or even maybe actual hardware.

games on certain game store apps, and I've also seen GameCredits used
inside a game to reward a player for earning an achievement, or
sometimes in an online multiplayer game, players will tip each other
with GameCredits coins. I was just curious, has GameCredits ever been
used in the blind gaming community in any of those ways; has an
audiogame developer ever allowed people to purchase a game with
GameCredits, has there ever been a game that gives the player
GameCredits for being a scoreboard high-ranker (or for any other
achievement), and have any players of a multiplayer audiogame such as
RedSpot, or even a text-based multiplayer MUD-type game, ever tipped
each other with GameCredits? I just know that a lot of people are
investing like crazy in GameCredits, especially the gamers who happen
to be in the bitcoin community; GameCredits really appeals to them.
And I've seen it used in mainstream video games; the GameCredits app
shows an entire catalogue of games from a few online stores that
accept them; this might even include Steam. But I was wondering how
the audiogame and textgame scene was utilizing GameCredits. Oh, and I

What do you mean by tangible currency? When someone buys your games,
even though they might be using regular US dollars, they're still
paying you digitally, so what do you mean?

Head north until you come to an intersection where the game actually announces
Intersection. At that intersection turn East, or you can simply sidestep east
while continuing to face north. This latter method is actually easier for me
when I’m looking for someplace specific. Since you’ll still be facing north the
game will announce anything in front of you. The professor’s house is the
second house, the first being Wilhelm’s. If you’re still facing north the game
will announce each house as you step east.
