Yes. I even asked VG Storm about the ending, and (this is kind of a spoiler but not blatant) they love to give games dark endings. I haven't bought Manamon yet but I've been told that the ending isn't exactly Pokémon. Well, once you're on Hades, you have to keep going! Of course, if you die, Hades's health is restored to full level!
