Lee, a year ago last January, I bought Diana a stainless steal fridgerator, and stainless steal gas range. Believe me, she did want a new washing machine, but after fixing it for less than 6 dollars she was happy. This washing machine may be `17 years old, but it washes good as long as it's working. Next time it breaks down, I'll probably have no choice but to buy her a new one. [BlindHandyMan] Washing machine is fixed, thanks to this list
Well I figured having this list available to us saved me at least 120 dollars. I owned this particular washing machine for 17 years, and only had to have a service repairman out once before which cost me 125 dollars for the repair. It so happens that we had the same problem start once again last week. So after addressing this list about my problem, I figured it be a synch to do the repairs myself. So, today I had my wife take me to sears parts department for a replacement kit. I bought a bag of 4 dogs that make the top part of the agitator agitate. I paid $5 and some change. It took me about 10 minutes to replace the dogs, slip it down over the shaft and splines and tighten up the bolt. Again, thanks to you all that responded to my agitator dilemma. Brice, congratulations on the repair and once again the list came thru but. Sears stock is down. when was the last time you bought the Little Lady a major appliance for Christmas? well, at that age I'd seriously suggest no heavy loads , especially jeans and towels and I know you have a swimming pool season coming up. do not believe those commercials that you can put in 18 beach towels. not without wrecking those ball bearings which in your machine like mine, are packed in a thin plastic casing and it costs just an even $125 for the repair and the part was less than $12 . Not all but most Kenmore and Lady Kenmore machines with the last several years are actually as mentioned here before. Whirpool machines..
