As of today, I have 37 RSS feeds that notify me when there are new entries. Most are of only modest interest, but I have come to pay attention when the popupboxofheadlines arises in the corner of my desktop with a melodious Ding. It works very well for me. It allows me to keep up with pages I am interested in while leaving time for more focused attempts at aimless surfing.G xponent Another Form Of Connection Maru rob ___ http://www.mccmedia.com/mailman/listinfo/brin-l

Some of the people I was close to in college with are there, and I keep up with what they're doing that way. It works for us. :) And I can get RSS feeds via Live Journal, so I've just got this one place to go for a lot of stuff I'm interested in keeping up with. (And some of the stuff I'm not keeping up with, some of my friends are, and they put up links to the *really* interesting stuff. It's a filter I can live with.) Then that just leaves me with a few mailing lists to keep up with the rest of the stuff I'm really interested in -- science fiction, parenting twins, etc. Julia ___ http://www.mccmedia.com/mailman/listinfo/brin-l
