EA has described the game as massively single-player (whatever that means, stereotypical jibes about the body image of gamers notwithstanding), but it seems that creatures and civilizations created by other players can be downloaded into your world... Rather reminds me of the universe created by a certain Astrophysicist of some renown in these parts...
