During autumn I began an effort to implement further delegation entries
of subnets among the different whois server. However, as the number of
22-bit wide scopes grew, having been moved from RIPE to LACNIC or AFRINIC,
I had to give up on that venture for now. Thus I have no pending changes
planned for any short term venue.

release time..

2021-01-01 Thread Alfred M. Szmidt
Hello,

Yes, I know. I've been promising a new release for a bit now. Life
got in the way.

But how about we start of the year with a release. Mats-Erik, do you
have any pending issues? Are there any fixes that are pending? I'll
see about going through the list if there have been reported issues or
patches.

Cheers, Alfred.

Lets aim for a release around the middle of May?

I've never liked release candidates since they are only tested by the
same group that tests the trunk. If any portability issues, or any
thing else, is found -- it will be with a normal release and in that
case we can roll a new one.

After a single release candidate? I would not recommend it.
We know nothing about the effects of portability changes
spurred by that candidate.

Two months after that first candidate I suggested a second.
Close to a further two months later, still no response
to my pledge. Complete silence.
