This is strange, it's only in the dutch PO file.

cd lilypond-git
grep -A3 "# FIXME" po/*.po | grep -v "#:"

Perhaps a wrong import from pot template?
You can fix it manually?

Where do I report translation errors?

Please in nl.po:3700 replace "verkeert" by "verkeerd"

By the way, in the Dutch PO file there are some FIXME remarks. They
comment on some strangeness in the corresponding msgid. Could you
have a look at them and maybe fix some of them in the source?

I'm not a developer and don't know what they really mean. Anyway, you
mean this:

$ git grep -A 2 FIXME po/lilypond.pot
po/lilypond.pot:1758:#. FIXME: constant error message.
po/lilypond.pot-1759-#: change-iterator.cc:67
po/lilypond.pot-1760-msgid "cannot find context to switch to"
--
po/lilypond.pot:1775:#. FIXME: incomprehensible message
po/lilypond.pot-1776-#: change-iterator.cc:82
po/lilypond.pot-1777-msgid "none of these in my family"
--
po/lilypond.pot:2396:#. FIXME: constant error message.
po/lilypond.pot-2397-#: mark-engraver.cc:150
po/lilypond.pot-2398-msgid "rehearsalMark must have integer value"
--
po/lilypond.pot:2899:#. FIXME:
po/lilypond.pot-2900-#: script-engraver.cc:115
po/lilypond.pot-2901-msgid "do not know how to interpret articulation:"

Second by the way: some msgids are identical save for a terminating
\n.

Is this distinction necessary or could those strings be equalized?

I don't know

translati...@lily.net is probably the best place. Simple documentation
edits can be made by some of the native speaking developers - in which
case I'd suggest an 'issue tracker', but when it comes to these 'po'
files, I understand that one shouldn't edit them directly (I could be
wrong but I don't do translations).

It's the program po file which is handled by the Translation Project.
Only the person in charge for the dutch language can send updates to
the TP robot, see:

http://translationproject.org/domain/lilypond.html

Benno, can you fix this error (see below) and send it to the robot?

I notice that we're missing Hungarian in this list ('hu') and that many
of these translations are not built by make doc (whereas 'hu' is).

Again I don't pretend to understand how this is organized.

It's the translation of the lilypond program, not of the documentation.
Some translators decided to contribute only to the program translation,
others only to the documentation translation.
