Summary:Field Service Management
Description:
Field Service Management has a crucial role in maintaining
telecommunication systems as they are responsible for planning, installing,
testing, and maintaining the equipment to run a proper communication
network. Their general duties include the maintenance and repair of
equipment and construction of towers to ensure optimal performance. A
telecom engineer’s job involves the use of various tools such as
interconnect devices, network facilities, and radios. A field engineer also
works with engineers from other fields for equipment installation and then
report to the upper management.

A Field Service engineer should have some experience with telecommunication
systems and at least a two-year degree for telecommunication field
technician jobs. Telecom field engineering is a very demanding job because
they have to work long hours and have to show up as soon as they receive a
call when they’re not on the job. A field engineer also needs to work in
high-stress scenarios and repair the equipment till the service is
restored.

Well I'd like to retract this issue but I see no way of deleting it. It
looks like the problem was due to some strangness in Firefox 52 in Solaris
Sparc, not with H264. Downgrading Firefox to version 45 fixed the problem.

Summary:EXIM CVE-2018-6789
Description:
CVE-2018-6789
=

There is a buffer overflow in base64d(), if some pre-conditions are met.
Using a handcrafted message, remote code execution seems to be possible.

A patch exists already and is being tested.

Currently we're unsure about the severity, we *believe*, an exploit
is difficult. A mitigation isn't known.

The CSWqhull package is really old and at that time we didn't split off
development packages, but had the devel-stuff in the main package and
libraries split off in CSWqhullrt. You can check that the header files are
installed with
  https://www.opencsw.org/search/qhull/

Now that I noticed I may update the package to conform to current naming
standards.

Best regards -- Dago

The naming rule is a bit strange, for libs it is lib..._dev, but when there
are utility binaries and the upstream package does not have "lib" as
prefix, than there is a separate package for these binaries only depending
on the libs, not the dev package. Anyway, glad you now have what you need.

Ah, of course. I was fooled because most of the csw packages have the dev
files right after the name of the package itself (eg. fontconfig,
fontconfig_dev). I didn't think to look elsewhere. Thanks.

A patch exists already and is being tested.

Currently we're unsure about the severity, we *believe*, an exploit
is difficult. A mitigation isn't known.

Hi Eduardo,

mainly this patch needs to be forward-ported to be applicable to the
current version:

https://buildfarm.opencsw.org/source/xref/opencsw/csw/mgar/pkg/exim/trunk/files/0003-Set-OpenCSW-build-options.patch

If you could do that then it should be fairly easy.

Thanks for the updated package, we have installed it on 16 nodes a week ago
and it's just doing its job well. We give it another week and if there are
no glitches we plan to deploy this package to 200+ nodes.

Thank you!
