The option you are looking for is ProxyIOBufferSize (which seems to be missing
from the v2.0 docs).

the reason was being sure big pages (200k+) were passed in one time and not
sliced.

since the back end server is modperl1 enabled (on nt) it is written in docs
that a good way to circumvent the relative inefficiency of modperl on nt is to
set up a proxy front-end, to pass only modperl specific request to the modperl
backend, and assure that on way back, modperl server responses are gobble in
one time by the front end proxy server. hence proxyreceive buffer size.

I am only reading docs and trying things.

It could be because Win/2000 doesn't support the setting of the receive buffer
size.

When it says "using default" it means "leaving the value to whatever the OS set
it as". There is no way for Apache to know what the default value is.

Is there a reason why you need to set it?
