After pointing out the Autoinstall(8) detail I understand the mishap error ... My bad ... Because OpenBSD is so stable and being able to upgrade from version to the next version transparently I confused the (A)utoInstall with the default (I)nstall Nonetheless thank you for the fast reply... Sorry for the late reply ... When I wrote that ".. the first installation started with 6.9 ..." , i was merely trying to pinpoint in time my first install with OpenBSD .. which were executed via the (A)utoinstall option ... When I was unable to do (A)utoInstall I was trying to execute a complete new fresh install Nonetheless what is the response file ?? In the install docs I was unable to find it... Hi, Recently with the latest 7.5 ISO I am unable to "AutoInstall" Calling the (A)utoinstall opttion in the installer I get : Could not determine auto server. Could not determine auto mode . Response file location ? Afterwards I get (I)nstall or (U)pgrade Fetching yes No response file found; non-interactive mode aborted. # - Although the (I)nstall mode apparently works Nonethless I was able to upgrade from a previous 7.4 version I think the first installation started with 6.9 and since then I was able to upgrade without any hassle Any comments ?
Unable to start after fresh installation - kernel error in 7.1 amd64
Hi, Starting with OpenBSD 6.9 I am trying to install OpenBSD in a Toshiba R50 laptop with no sucess. ( meanwhile installed several other OSes in the same machine ) Despite be able to fully install OpenBSD, this time after the 1st reboot I am greeted in ddb{0} with the following details : pcppi0 at isa0 port 0x61 spkr0 at pcppi0 vmm0: at mainbus VMX/EPT kernel: double fault trap, code=0 Stopped at uvm_addr_fitspace+'x13: pushq %r8 ddb{0} > With version 6.9 and 7.0 I was able to boot and randomly it crashed with the same problem. Now with 7.1 It was immediate even before the user login shell Ideas how to proceed ? Thanks in advance Marco Marques

Kernel Panic - OpenBSD6.9- part2
Hi, Noticed that sometimes the kernel error is a bi different from the one I sent previously : kernel: double fault trap, code=0 Stopped at uaddr_bestfit_select+0x61: callq _rb_root+0x4 then droping to the ddb(0) console As soon I as am able to get the dmesg details I will try to send it But for any purpose I am using the generic 6.9 kernel from the install6.9.img. thanks in advance Marco Marques
