Re: Unable to use latest version ( 7.5) Autoinstall

2024-04-19 Thread markmarques

After pointing out the Autoinstall(8) detail I understand the mishap error ...
My bad ...

Because OpenBSD is so stable and being able to upgrade from
version to the next version transparently I confused the (A)utoInstall
with the default (I)nstall

Nonetheless thank you for the fast reply...

Greetings

See autoinstall(8). It is not used for a regular install.

Hi,

Recently with the latest 7.5 ISO I am unable to "AutoInstall"

Calling the (A)utoinstall opttion in the installer I get :

 Response file location ?

 Afterwards I get

 (I)nstall or (U)pgrade

 Fetching yes

No response file found;  non-interactive mode aborted.

Although the (I)nstall mode apparently works

Nonethless I was able to upgrade from a previous 7.4 version

I think the first installation started with 6.9 and since then I
was able to upgrade without any hassle

 Any comments ?

It need the response file to be able to autoinstall.

Unable to start after fresh installation - kernel error in 7.1 amd64

2022-04-22 Thread markmarques

Hi,

Starting with OpenBSD 6.9 I am trying to install OpenBSD  in a Toshiba
R50 laptop with no sucess.

( meanwhile installed several other OSes in the same machine )

Despite be able to fully install OpenBSD,   this time after the 1st
reboot I am greeted in ddb{0} with the following details :

pcppi0 at isa0 port 0x61

spkr0 at pcppi0
vmm0: at mainbus VMX/EPT

kernel: double fault trap, code=0

Stopped at   uvm_addr_fitspace+'x13: pushq %r8

ddb{0} >

With version 6.9 and 7.0 I was able to boot and randomly it crashed
with the same problem.

Now with 7.1 It was immediate even before the user login shell

Ideas how to proceed ?

Thanks in advance

Kernel Panic - OpenBSD6.9- part2

2021-10-01 Thread markmarques

Hi,
Noticed that sometimes the kernel error is a bi different from the one
I sent previously :

kernel: double fault trap, code=0

Stopped at         uaddr_bestfit_select+0x61:     callq _rb_root+0x4

then droping to the ddb(0)  console

As soon I as am able to get the dmesg details I will try to send it
But for any purpose I am using the generic 6.9 kernel from the install6.9.img.

thanks in advance

Marco Marques
