Hi David. Do this Vulnerability group have some their own forum, mail list

cve-2014-3566 cve-2014-6593 in OPEN JDK 8

2020-09-25 Thread Moshe Zuisman
Hi.
I am trying to figure out if cve-2014-3566 cve-2014-6593 nad if yes -
starting from which build.
Alan Bateman pointed me to
https://openjdk.java.net/groups/vulnerability/advisories/. But it contains
only a list of fixed vulnerabilities, that were reported at 2019-2020 years.
I have found at https://linux.oracle.com/errata/ELSA-2015-0069.html
that Open JDK 8 for Oracle Linux 6 already contained fix for cve-2014-3566
for example.
But - is there some way, I can be sure that this was included in the
general code base of Open JDK(and not some special branch - ORACLE manages
for their systems), and starting from which build this fix was included?

Re: How can I know which vulnerabilities (CVEs) are fixed in specific tag of open JDK?

2020-09-23 Thread Moshe Zuisman
Thanks!
But the problem here is that this list includes only vulnerabilities, dated
by 2019-2020.
Vulnerabilities we (our customer) are interested in - are of 2014-2015.

How can I know which vulnerabilities (CVEs) are fixed in specific tag of open JDK?

2020-09-23 Thread Moshe Zuisman
Hi.
I have the following problem. We provide OpenJDK binary distro with our
product.
With the current version we provided JDK8u-b222
Customer comes with a list of CVEs and asks if they are fixed in distro, we
provided with our product.
For example he asks about cve-2014-3566, jre-vuln-cve-2017-3241(it is only
a part of the full list he asks about).
In the release note of b222 (
https://mail.openjdk.java.net/pipermail/jdk8u-dev/2019-July/009840.html) I
do not see any info about fixed CVEs.
Is there any way I figure out what is a full list of CVEs - fixed in
specific, or opposite - can I somehow know if some specific CVE fixed in
some build?

Re: How to get a specific tag from Opne jdk source control.

2019-09-23 Thread Moshe Zuisman
Hi.
I just want to clarify it.
If I understand you right:

   1. when I download b222 - and run "get_source script - I really get
   source of b222
   2. Text - that I get, when run "java -version" - is something that I can
set , when running "configure" script

Am I right? If so - what is parameter, that I have to pass to "configure"
utility, to set this text?

How to get a specific tag from Opne jdk source control.

2019-09-22 Thread Moshe Zuisman
Hi.
I need to build open JDK jdk8u 222

.
I know that I can download precompiled binary distro of this version. But I
need to compile it at our site.
Question is - how can I get source of it?
I am going to :
https://hg.openjdk.java.net/jdk8u/jdk8u/tags then to jdk8u222-ga

and download zip file with source directory.
Then perform "get_sources.sh" and build it...
When I perform java -version
I get::
[jdkbuild@vl-tlv-ctm-dv7j jdk8u-eeeabadc6bf0]$
jdk8u/build/linux-x86_64-normal-server-release/images/j2re-image/bin/java
-version
openjdk version "1.8.0-internal"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build
1.8.0-internal-jdkbuild_2019_09_22_17_42-b00)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.71-b00, mixed mode)

and not something like: openjdk version "1.8.0-b222"
that I get if I download binary distro from AdoptOpenJDK site...
What am I doing wrong?

But - if to define it more general.
Is there some general, reproducable procedure of creating working build
environment at windows?,
Like:

   - minimal version of Windows
   - minimal version of Visual C and list of its required components and
   their minimal versions
   - minimal version of cygwin.

Since except obvious problem, that I do not sucess to get working build of
JDK (while 3 months ago with then last source - it worked),
there is another problem that I do not success to understand. At 2 machines
with same version of VC and same version of cygwin (actually - I copied it
from one machine to another)
I get different errors at build... And this is something - totally beyond
my understanding...

Re: How to troubleshoot build failure on windows cygwin

Some additional point. I have checked - file
c:\openJdk\openjdk8u\build\windows-x86_64-normal-server-release\hotspot\windows_amd64_compiler2\product\ad_x86_64_peephole.obj
exists. So I am quite entangled here If object was built and exists -
why linker fails to add it to a library?

I have here 2 questions.
First is obvious - what can be a reason for such a failure?

Second - are there some troubleshooting flags , methods to work out such
problems? Since message is here very unclear. I can not get any clue from
here which external refference can not be found, which module refference
it?

Hi David.
2 questions.

   1. I as was told here - downloaded JDK sources from
   http://hg.openjdk.java.net/jdk-updates/jdk11u/
   <http://hg.openjdk.java.net/jdk-updates/jdk11u/> . I can not perform "hg
   update -r jdk-11.0.2-ga", since I get:
" "abort: no repository found in '/cygdrive/c/jdk11u-11.0.2-ga' (.hg
   not found)!" "
And really - in director, that I get after extracting there is not ".hg"
   2. When I took jtreg 4.2-b12, most tests passes, but I still fail at:

Re: Failure buiilding OPEN JDK 11 on windows cygwin with VC 2017

2019-06-04 Thread Moshe Zuisman
Hi. Thank for your recomendation!
Although I did not success to run "hg update -r jdk-11.0.2-ga" - got :
"abort: no repository found in '/cygdrive/c/jdk11u-11.0.2-ga' (.hg not
found)!"
But since I from begining cloned jdk-11.0.2 label form site - I suppose it
gives equavalent result.

And finally I was able to pass compilation (make)
But "make test" fails any where:
to get it clear form begening - I donladed latest stabel jtreg and
configured with it:
 ./configure --with-jtreg=/cygdrive/c/jtreg

2019-06-03 Thread Moshe Zuisman
Hi.
Probably I do not understand something in source control system of Open JDK
projeck.
I have gone to :
https://hg.openjdk.java.net/jdk/jdk11
and clicked last label:
"9 months ago jwilhelm Added tag jdk-11+28 for changeset
76072a077ee1default tip"
arrived to:
https://hg.openjdk.java.net/jdk/jdk11/rev/1ddf9a99e4ad
and downloaded zip with sources.

How have I to download latest fixed source of JDK 11.0.2?

Hi David. I have done it. with same result.
I have added --debug-configure flag.. Attaching full configure output..

I am stuck with this issue and right now - have no idea - how to get out of

Re: Failure buiilding OPEN JDK 11 on windows cygwin with VC 2017

2019-05-29 Thread Moshe Zuisman
I thought, that may be probleem ressults form some specific configuration
on my machine (for example I have 2 version of MSVCc - 2012 and 2017.
So I created clean VmWare Virtual machine and installed their only MSVC
2017 and cygwin. And tried to build OPEN JDK theeir. and got exactly same
failure.

Re: Failure buiilding OPEN JDK 11 on windows cygwin with VC 2017

2019-05-28 Thread Moshe Zuisman
I configure with default options:

*sh ./configure --with-boot-jdk=/cygdrive/c/jdk-11.0.3*

By the way - ordinary VC solutions - compiles form MSVC IDE with no problem
