Plans, analyzes, designs, implements, maintains, and controls the
organization's databases. Consults with and provides guidance to database
users and client groups, often recommending tactical and strategic
solutions. Performs moderately complex server-class database activities
across various platforms and environments including one or more of the
following: business requirement identification and analysis; conceptual,
logical, and/or physical database design; data modeling and/or mapping;
moderate to complex programming and coding to automate and/or support the
database environment; performance monitoring and tuning; analyzing database
metrics and assisting with capacity planning; planning, testing,
configuration and execution of installations, upgrades and migrations; and
implementing security controls. Leads, mentors and/or provides guidance to
less experienced database analysts, where applicable, including guidance
for troubleshooting escalated issues. May participate in the development of
data/ database architectures and management policies, procedures and
standards; May lead moderately complex projects

*Minimum Qualifications *
4 - 5+ years database design and administration experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skill and basic technical project
management experience. Customer service skills are critical.
Knowledgeable in SQL performance tuning, administration (backup/recovery,
high availability), installation/upgrades, maintenance (production
support), and monitoring.
Good business sense with fundamental understanding of financials,
accounting analysis, and statistical modeling.
Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics, or
Operations Research or equivalent experience.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

ContractEducation and Experience :*
Senior DBA with 10+ year’s experience as SQL database administrator.
Production support experience maintaining highly available databases.
Hands-on experience in refreshing, patching, backup and recovery of SQL
databases.
Hands-on experience in design, configuration and installation of SQL
databases in a MS cluster.
Extensive experience with Backup and Recovery using SQL backup  realistic
Disaster Recovery
planning.
Expert at performance tuning and expert troubleshooting and diagnostic
skills; query/index
optimization; partitioning schemes.
Experience with all recent Windows OS versions
Understand the .NET platform and how it interacts with SQL server databases
from application
perspective
Experience with database design and architecture a must.
Experience with transactional processing, data warehousing  data mining.
Working knowledge of EIM concepts i.e. Data Governance, Master Data
Management, Metadata
Management.
Experience with SQL Replication in a high volume environment
Space management and database growth capacity management experience
required.
 Strong SQL Application Development experience working with application
teams; Expert in TSQL
and command line interfaces
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or
Information Systems or a
related area or equivalent experience.
Excellent writing and communication skills. Ability to communicate at all
levels, technical and
nontechnical.
Ability to get work done in a team environment. Highly motivated and
self-starter.
Oracle exposure is required to be able to interface between oracle and SQL
platform changes and relate them to existing SQL application which may be
impacted.

*Desirables: *
MS SQL DBA Certifications desired
Extensive experience working in a Windows environment is a plus
Some experience working on Unix environments desired
Logical and Physical data modeling; Dimensional modeling experience is a
plus
