In this role, the candidate must experience with and a deep understanding of POS behavior, setup and configuration, and how a POS is used within the hospitality environment. The candidate must be able to translate current operational behavior into a set of APIs and implementation that can be consumed by the Ziosk system to support the functional POS behavior including ordering, paying, couponing, and loyalty. To be successful in this role, the candidate must have a strong knowledge of distributed computing concepts such as: fault tolerance, self-healing, network protocols, multi-threaded programming, performance, reliability, and scalability. The POS integration must be designed to support high volume transactions with dial-tone reliability. Responsibilities • Work with customers and POS vendors to integrate the Ziosk system. • Translate current operational behavior into a set of APIs and implementation that can be consumed by the Ziosk system to support the functional POS behavior including ordering, paying, couponing, and loyalty. • Working with and integrating to POS systems via published APIs • Network and establish cross-functional relationships is necessary to work effectively within our organization to acquire knowledge, root cause issues, and create cross-functional system solutions. This role requires agility, flexibility, and ability to handle urgent situations with confidence Qualifications • .NET application development (C#) and C++ development experience • Distributed computing, socket communications, web services, service oriented architecture, Microsoft Windows Communication Foundation • Creating, documenting, evolving, versioning APIs • SOAP, REST, XML, JSON, marshalling • COM programming • SQL, working with a DBMS, .NET database programming • Developing and interacting with windows services • University degree in software engineering or computer science • 6-10 years overall experience in software development • Strong documentation and communication skills Ziosk is an Equal Opportunity employer offering competitive benefits and compensation.
