[BVARC] Fwd: Arrl Letter

2018-01-08 Thread Jim Blanca via BVARC
All,
I am not sure how many of you are following the actions of the ARRL, but
here is a bit of the "low hanging fruit" that y'all need to be aware of.

If you are in agreement to the comments written by CWOPS and wish to add
your name/call sign to the growing list of dissatisfied members of the
ARRL, please do as asked. The upcoming BoD meeting for the ARRL is January
19th, so it's better to do this sooner; rather than later!!

A group of hams whose call signs you’ll recognize have joined together to
produce a letter you can send to your ARRL Director and officers. This
follows on the letter PVRC sent a few days ago regarding our concerns about
how ARRL management has been conducting its business in recent times. Our
goal is to return ARRL to the membership-based organization it had been for
100 years. More immediately, though, there’s a Board meeting on January 19
that will consider a variety of proposals and we want to be sure we are
heard in objecting to them. For more details, you will see lots of detail
when you click on the link below.

Click on the link below and you’ll be taken to a platform that explains the
various issues. You don’t have to log in. On the right side fill out the
blocks, like your call sign, name, etc. (twice for some of that because of
the way the system is set up). Indicate your ARRL Division (Roanoke for
Virginia, Atlantic for Maryland; check QST for others.) Then click on
START WRITING. The new window you’ll see contains the text of the message
on the right side. You can change the language of the message if you want,
or just send it as it is. The system will automatically route your message
to your Director (and the officers), include your call sign, etc. Click on
SEND and you’re done. You’ll then receive an email to confirm the message
has been sent.

Thank you!
