Re: [BVARC] forum

2023-03-13 Thread Kori Rahman via BVARC
Eric and all else interested in our Discord,

The BVARC Discord is used for a few different things. First let me explain
the format. We have several different "Channels" which are essentially
chatrooms specialized to different topics. Some of those channels include:
"General" for general conversation among our members, "local-nets" for
discussion or follow up on our nets, "equipment-sales" for posting
equipment for sale and to ask if anyone has a particular item,
"parks-on-the-air" for discussion about POTA and about our monthly POTA
events. Discord is generally accessed via the "Discord" app, but can also
be accessed via the Windows or Mac program available on their website
Discord.com, or directly in your computer browser.

To join our Discord "Server", first download the app from your app store.
Create an account (you can use our format "Name - Call Sign", or use any
username you want and just let me know when you first logon by posting a
message with your name and call sign and I will change it for our server so
everyone knows who you are. Once you have the app installed and an account
created, follow this link on your
phone (or computer if you are logged in via the PC or Mac program).

That link again is: https://discord.com/invite/kwVGeXM7UH

That's about it. I will see what I can do to get the word out. BVARC has
lots and lots of events coming up, so everyone stay tuned on all our
platforms (Facebook group, email reflector, and Discord). BVARC POTA on
March 26th at Galveston Island State Park is a big one coming up!

Thanks and 73!

Jimmy, it appears that the existence of the club Discord server has not been
well advertised, I’m sorry to say this is the first I’ve heard of it. Mind you
I’m a child of the email era so I don’t pick up these new toys as well as I
should.

Could you please post a little more information about the Discord and what it
is useful for? I’m sure other folks as well as I would love to hear about it!

I have an IC-756 Pro III in mint condition that I would sell. I know you
wanted a 7300, but side by side, the 756 Pro III may be the better rig.
