I thought you may be interested in how the KK5W Mega Field Day has performed during the last five years. These numbers were taken from the 3830Scores web site.
While FD has always been about community service and promotion of ham radio, hams are encouraged to teach about ham radio, antennas and operation of radios. ARRL specifically encourages ham radio operators to make as many QSO's as possible during the 24 hours of operation, almost like a fun contest. The table below shows the QSO's and Points for KK5W during the last five years. KK5W has done well in the past. Let's see if we can improve on our score this year while having fun doing it. YEAR QSO'S POINTS 2014 (8A) 3763 13,374 2015 (8A) 4263 17,502 2016 (8A) 3173 13,886 2017 (8A) 3433 14,058 2018 (10A) 3003 13,159 Nizar
