There has been a great response on RSVP's so far and I really appreciate it.
This really helps on determining on the amount of food to get for the meeting.
Also there is an update on the choices of pizzas. The list is now:
  Extravaganzza    Buffalo Chicken
Pacific Veggie    Wisconsin 6 Cheese            Ultimate
Pepperoni - added            MeatZZa - added

As before, please include the following on your RSVP:
How many people attending?
How many pieces of pizza
What kind of pizza?
The cut-off for the RSVP will be extended to 10 pm this evening so make your
choices and drop me an e-mail.
And you can send that RSVP to n5...@att.net .
Hope to see you at the meeting.

Kyle Brewer, KE5IJ, of NASA will be at the general meeting to explain all the
different communications system on the International Space Station and what is
new in amateur radio for the ISS. Kyle visited the club the club in 2016 and
gave us an insight at that time of what was in place on the ISS. After two

Don’t forget the new BVARC raffle – “ A station in a Box”. Several people will

Digital Mobile Radio
Also known as TDMA, Mototurbo and P25 Phase II. Digital time division
multiplex access with two time slots per carrier so two conversations can
carry on the same channel. Less battery drain as the radio transmits in
30ms bursts. Lots of features analog doesn't offer.
No it's not NXDN, DSTAR or Fusion ..those are FMDA modes like original
P25... continuous carrier and data and only one conversation per channel..

Matt Cline, K3JMC, will bring to us the in-and-outs on Digital Mobile Radio
or DMR. DMR is growing fast and Houston already has nearly 15 repeaters
operating DMR. Come out to the meeting to find out more on this fast growing
digital format.

Also staring at the June meeting will be the BVARC raffle 2.0. This raffle
is extremely different since the prize is a "station in a box". This station
in a box is everything but the trees so make sure you pick up your raffle
ticket to win a new radio and accessories. We will be selling tickets for
the station in the box through November's Chili supper. If you would like to
sell tickets, tell Donovan you would like to sell one or two or 20 packs of
tickets. It's up to you on how many tickets you would like to sell. Donovan
will have all the specifics on selling the tickets.

And don't forget Field Day coming up on June 22nd, 23rd and 24th. With five
groups joining in this year, the combined Field Day is quickly becoming one
of the largest Field Day gatherings in Texas. This year it will be held at
Duhacsek Park off Old Richmond Road and Voss. The location will give us more
than enough room to have a great time. Don't forget to sign up to operate

is extremely easy.

Also, pass the word around for the July meeting. Kyle Brewer, AE5IJ, will be
coming by and telling us what is up with the ISS, its radio communications
and the status of the amateur radio equipment. Make sure you make it to the
July meeting.
