The only time I have seen this is when you compile with optimize (javac -O optimize), but it depends on the compiler. RE: books on cactus?
Hi Eric, Exactly! I have been working with Ted Husted on a book about JUnit and its extension for some time now. The manuscript is almost finished. Our publisher is Manning and the book should be available in about 3-4 months. We are going to start announcing it publicly real soon now. We'll probably make available some chapters for public reviews. As you would have guessed, there are lots of chapters about Cactus and how to use Cactus to unit test Servlets, Filters, Tag libs, JSPs, EJBs, Database applications, etc. However, it is not about Cactus. It is about unit testing and choosing the right tool for the job. Thus, it also shows how to perform unit testing with Mock Objects, Stubs and other techniques and it explains which to use when. It is very hands on, with best practices distilled along the way and based on real life examples. In addition, we have tried very hard not to duplicate information that is readily available on the web sites of the different frameworks used, but rather to present them in situation and provide knowledge based on our experience of using them in production projects. Stay tuned. Thanks -Vincent -Original Message- From: Chiu, Eric T [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 31 January 2003 16:18 To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: books on cactus? Is there a book or online references available on software testing with Junit and Cactus? If not, is there interest in writing one? IHMO This would make a solid topic for a book, as QA teams w/o previous experience want to ramp up on the Junit/Cactus setup quickly in a tutorial format, w/o going thru the online docs.
