Re: [Callers] Dance title?

2013-03-10 Thread Luke Donforth
I haven't seen that specific dance. I'm also a little puzzled by the chain
to balance transition.

It looks very similar to "Button Pushers", which I unfortunately don't know
who wrote. They add a women DSD 1x to mediate the chain->partner swing.

Button Pushers
by unknown
Contra/Improper

A1 ---
(16) Neighbor balance and swing
A2 ---
(8) Long lines, forward and back
(8) Women's Chain across
B1 ---
(8) Women Do-si-do 1x
(8) Partner swing
B2 ---
(8) Circle Left 3/4
(4) Balance the ring
(4) Pass through to next

It's also close to Airpants by Lisa Greenleaf, which has a ladies allemande
instead of a chain, which leaves them set up for a partner balance and
swing. The B2 uses a DSD 1.5 for progression instead of a balance and pass
through

A1 ---
(16) Neighbor balance and swing
A2 ---
(8) Long lines, forward and back
(8) Women allemande Right 1-1/2
B1 ---

B2 ---
(8) Circle Left 3/4
(8) Neighbor Do-si-do 1.5x

I am having trouble picturing how the intended flow would be from the ladies
chain into the partner balance and swing. It seems like it would be rather
awkward.

[Callers] Dance title?

Does anyone have a title/author for this dance? I am sure that it must
exist. If not, it is called JuneApple by me!

A1 Neighbor balance and swing

A2 Long lines forward and back, ladies chain

B1 Partner balance and swing

B2 Circle left 3/4, balance and pass through along
