Re: [Callers] Mad Robin + Lady/Raven combos
Here is one of mine. It’s a bit tricky, but swapping the dolphin hey for a regular one would make it significantly easier but the timing might not work as well at that point. E&E indecent, reverse progression Ben Werner A1: (6) Mad Robin – larks start sliding into the middle & to the right (4) Super Slide * (6) Continue Mad Robin with New Neighbors A2: (4) Ravens cross RS, partner RS ¾ (12) 1s Dolphin Hey, Ravens Start RS shoulder B1: (16) Partner RS & Swing B2: (8) ravens chain (8) long lines *Super Slide: when ravens are in middle sliding right during the first mad robin, stay in the middle & slide past new neighbors before backing out as part of the 2nd mad robin. Continue mad robbining with these new neighbors. (This is the progression) Improper at ends despite being an indecent dance. Teach tip: Start Improper - you’re going to leave these neighbors, but you’ll be right back. Turn away from this neighbor and form new hands 4 (now indecent). People that are now out will be right back in, don’t cross over, stay where you are. Easier to reference a wall that the dancers are facing instead of 1’s 2s for dolphin hey designation Author Note: Written For Erik Erhardt and Emily Ruch on the occasion of their marriage. Dolphin Hey was at the request of Erik&Emily. Cheers, Ben W. Webster Hall Reel, by Don Theyken. Not sure if it's OK to share so publicly, so I'll send it to you offline. It has a lovely English-y move to get into the CC. Looks simple on the card, but can be quite disorienting for newer or otherwise geographically-challenged dancers.
