[Canonical-partner-dev] [Bug 1355742] [NEW] Skype 4.3.0.37 crashes, both on original 12.04 as well as after 14.04 upgrade (have *.crash log)
Public bug reported: The new Skype 4.3.0.37 (which is now mandatory, previous version do not work anymore - you cannot login) crashes for, both on my originally installed 12.04 as well as after a 14.04 upgrade. The previous version used to work fine for me, so I think this is probably a new problem, not covered by various other existing closed Skype bugs (e.g. I've tried the LD_PRELOAD=.../mesa/libGL.so.1 from bug #1155327 = http://askubuntu.com/questions/285642/skype-crashes-with-a-segmentation- fault, and that's not it). Attached is a *.crash. I've tried to submit this via ubuntu-bug *.crash as suggested on https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs, but it didn't do anything On start up I get this on the Console, but if I understand https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/overlay-scrollbar/+bug/1134202 correctly, this is only noise, and not actually the root cause of the issue: Gtk-Message: Failed to load module overlay-scrollbar Gtk-Message: Failed to load module unity-gtk-module $ sudo apt-cache policy skype skype: Installed: 4.3.0.37-0ubuntu0.12.04.1 Candidate: 4.3.0.37-0ubuntu0.12.04.1 Version table: *** 4.3.0.37-0ubuntu0.12.04.1 0 500 http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu/ trusty/partner amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status I'd be willing to help debug this if it's of any value to others - please provide steps of what you would need me to do. ** Affects: skype (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: _usr_bin_skype-bin.1000.crash https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1355742/+attachment/4175300/+files/_usr_bin_skype-bin.1000.crash -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Canonical Partner Developers, which is subscribed to skype in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1355742 Title: Skype 4.3.0.37 crashes, both on original 12.04 as well as after 14.04 upgrade (have *.crash log) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/skype/+bug/1355742/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~canonical-partner-dev Post to : canonical-partner-dev@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~canonical-partner-dev More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
