[cayugabirds-l] Yard Warblers

2012-08-15 Thread John and Fritzie Blizzard
Both of you, gary & Sara . Thanks for the "thumbs up" on what you've
seen already & thereby warning the rest of us that it is time to be more
alert.

It seems each day I'm enjoying CHIMNEY SWIFTS, those little "flying cigars",
in greater numbers, to say nothing of tremendous numbers of gulls, swallows,
starlings & other "little birds". The ospreys are still hanging out on their
platform across the field. Becky says when they fly over she can hear them
screaming, "Bring me fishies, Mom! Dad, c'mon feed me, NOW!!" But Mom & Dad
just ignore them.

The mockingbird & jays are back on the hill & Becky was happy to report that
the perky little chickadees quickly returned & found the seed she put out
this a.m.. I put the 2nd hummer feeder on the other side of the house
yesterday so little boy hummer can sip in peace & let the 2 females fight by
the kitchen window.

Please, keep the reports coming. Not all of us have time to or think to read
E-bird so we miss out.

Fritzie, Union Springs

We also had our first fall warbler late this afternoon--a CHESTUN-SIDED
darted about our cherry tree.
