RE: [cayugabirds-l] Snow goose XU97 Update

2022-03-14 Thread Johnson, Alyssa
If anyone has decent photos of any of these birds and a certificate of the band
information they’ve received back, I’d love to write up a post and share on
Montezuma Audubon Center’s FB. Please send to me! Photo credit will be included.

Thanks!

At least 32 Snow Geese with field-readable neck collars were in the mucklands
flock on Friday. Gregg Dashnau has a complete list in this checklist:
https://ebird.org/checklist/S104632206
With Pete's XU97 that makes 33 with others certainly lurking.

Thanks to all who responded to my request for help with a special thanks to
Laurie Michelman for the tip on how to get quick feedback on the "band".
Cool stuff!

[cayugabirds-l] Cherishing the Simple things

2022-03-14 Thread Peter Saracino
The softly rising Sun is edging closer to its Equinox point along the
eastern horizon. A song sparrow is singing full throated from a nearby
lilac bush. A titmouse is calling "Peter, Peter, peter", reminding me of
lengthening days. And a ribbon-shaped skein of snow geese is heading
northward with a few hundred miles behind it and 1900 more to go. This
morning i am grateful to find hope in the simple things.
