[cayugabirds-l] Trying to send an attachment

2023-02-20 Thread madonna stallmann
Hello Bird People!

I've been trying to send a 790 kb photo of a bird's nest along with a small
to medium size email message. The Cornell list manager keeps sending it back
stating that the message is too large...over 1 MB. I've cropped the photo
as much as possible. Does anyone have any suggestions for what else I
can/should do to get it through the gate? I've never had this problem
before.

Thanks for any suggestions.

[cayugabirds-l] Question on waterfowl on Seneca Lake vs. Cayuga Lake

2023-02-20 Thread Barbara B. Eden
Today we went to Seneca Lake to Lodi State Park and down to Watkins. There were
very few birds on the water (only a small flock of ring billed gulls)
Cayuga Lake usually has a wide variety of water fowl. Does anyone have any
theories about this? Is it because the shelf is shallower on Cayuga Lake so
it's easier for the birds to find food.
Thanks in advance for any insights
