[cayugabirds-l] Ruddy Turnstones at Myers
Cluster of seven Ruddy Turnstones on the spit at Myers Park at 11:15 am. Scattered when bothered by a ring-billed gull but then reformed into a tight pod facing the wind. Also a flight of a fifteen or so peeps flitting around. Guess I'll have to do the shorebird ID course (again). -- Cayugabirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsRULES http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/cayugabirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/Cayugabirds 3) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/CAYU.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --

[cayugabirds-l] Raptors et al on Cayuga Today
Caught a nice boat ride today before the clouds rolled in. Saw 3+ bald eagles - one on a crag on the cliffs below Bolton Point, a likely one flying at the same location maybe an immature bird, another in a crag below Lansing Station, and another in the bay just above Millikan. The latter gave us a good show diving for something on the lake surface a couple of hundred yards away. Ospreys were out in force as well, one on a utility post on the white pier at the foot of Cayuga, the two adults and immature birds on the nest at Salt Point, and one more above Millikan. Also saw a Black Crowned Night Heron in a tree in the bay just above Taughannock, 8 terns (Common?) on the red pier at the foot of the lake, and the usual Great Blue Herons, ducks, gulls, cormorants, and shorebirds. -- Cayugabirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsRULES http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/cayugabirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/Cayugabirds 3) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/CAYU.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
