[cayugabirds-l] Blue winged warbler

2021-05-03 Thread anneb . clark
Shortly after I got my first view of a Rose-breasted Grosbeak male rather than
just a song, a Blue-winged Warbler male investigated the bushes where one set
of feeders sits - and took a miscalculated bounce off my screen. Unfortunately
my camera was not at hand to record this surprise.

[cayugabirds-l] Blue-winged warbler

2019-05-04 Thread khmo
Our feeders are so loaded with Pine Siskins, Purple Finch, Rose-breasted
Grosbeaks, Red-breasted Nuthatch,White Throats, Chippies and others that
it almost feels like the ADK.

Yesterday morning we had a singing Blue-winged Warbler among the new
arrivals. The BWWAs have been breeders here for many years. The RBNUs
for the last few years.

I had 4 blue-winged warblers foraging in the back corner of my yard this
evening. I had seen one consistently over the past couple weeks, but it
was a treat to see four of them together.

[cayugabirds-l] Blue-winged Warbler singing on Sapsucker Woods Rd

2016-06-02 Thread Anne Marie Johnson
There's a Blue-winged Warbler singing on Sapsucker Woods Road right across from
the visitor entrance to the Lab.

There is also a turtle digging into the dirt at the edge of the pavement on the
same side of the street as the visitor entrance, to the right of the entrance.
Is it planning to lay eggs there?!

A Blue-winged Warbler was singing this morning near where one was on
