I didn't post this yesterday because I couldn't bear to turn on my computer, but around noon yesterday at the top of Burns Road in Brooktondale I heard a RED-SHOULDERED HAWK fly over calling. It was too strong a call to be a Blue Jay and coming from too high. A friend from North Carolina recognized it right away, also. I couldn't find it in the beautiful blue sky even with binocs.
