A beautiful fox sparrow is hanging around at the Sapsucker Woods feeder area 
with the juncos and white-throated sparrows and American tree sparrows. A 
cooper flushed the lot so they’re in hiding right now, but are probably still 
around.

Not wanting to be too cavalier about broadcasting owl sightings, but not 
wanting to keep things secret either, I figure I’d “bury the lead” here to 
anyone reading this far ahead to say a barred owl is sitting very close to the 
wilson trail, just south of Podell boardwalk, on the hemlock tree just to the 
left.
