[cayugabirds-l] yard bird
We had two sand hill cranes fly over today. They circled once, leading us to believe they were going to land, but they continued flying west. [cayugabirds-l] yard bird Ovenbird
I was surprised to see a rare (for us) yard bird on the patio and surrounds, an Ovenbird. Actually, we have seen one in the past a time or two in fall (and, spring, if I remember correctly). We have a woodchip path and that seems to be a draw. We're on West Hill in the city. I guess gardening for wildlife pays off! We've also enjoyed an array of butterflies including Giant Swallowtail, Painted Lady, Black Swallowtail, Spicebush Swallowtail, Monarchs and Skippers. All beautiful. Re: [cayugabirds-l] Yard bird
I found a PRAIRIE WARBLER this morning singing persistently from the old field adjacent to our property. I suspect it is a newly arrived migrant since I had only heard one once about two weeks ago. Hopefully, it will breed here as has been the norm for the past 10+ years. David McCartt Tubbs Hill Rd.
