I was walking in the woods up at the overlook at Taughanock this afternoon when a large hawk flew through the trees. As I was trying to get a better view of his disappearing silhouette I noticed the immediate chorus of chipmunks all around. The typical clucking sound that they make to alert to an aerial predator. It doesn't sound like chatter.
