Sally’s usually not seeing NO. FLICKERS by the west shore of the lake is interesting to me, since I have Flickers here on the east shore of Cayuga Lake/Lansing all the time in the warmer months, as well as Pileated Woodpeckers, which I see in winter, too. I get to compare what Dave Nutter calls the “monotonous” call of the Flickers with the “maniacal” call of the Pileated Woodpecker!
