Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] CUPC Presence statuses...
You have to associate both lines appearances to the corresponding user. It is not sufficient to associate the device to the end user. So, go to device deskphone, click on the line, go to the bottom of the page to associate end user, do it. Then do the same for the UPC-device. [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Lab 5A CSS BR1
Hi, I configured css-internal on the BR1- MGCP and the H323 gateways . Q1. BR1 phones can't call HQ or BR2 However, HQ and BR2 phones can both call BR1 phones. HQ phones and BR2 phones call each other and the PSTN phone as well. Route plan is : RP-rl-local-gw-Standard local Route Q2. I also configured css-internal in all 3 trunks ( CME, gk-trunk, hq-sip) - is this really necessary ? Q3.. On page 271 of lab5A ' Ensure that the ANI is 7 digits ... Emergency calls originating from HQ' I check and rechecked the solution with the proctor guide and could not get a display of 7 digits and calling name It was showing 10 digits and no calling name on the PSTN phone. Any help appreciated. Thanks.
Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] CUPC Presence statuses...
I don't agree with that. Device Association on end user does only affect Device Control (CTI). Line appearance association does only affect phone presence. You definitely need both. All under the aspect that we are talking about a 6.x system or higher. Von: Ravindra Lakpriya [mailto:lakpr...@gmail.com] Gesendet: Freitag, 03. Follow up: *This doesn't appear to be true after testing.* I removed all MRGL settings from my gateways, reset them and tested. MOH is working based on the Device Pool settings for 6608 and H323 gw's. One thing to note is it appears the 6608 has a flaky problem with Multicast MOH. Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Questions regarding IOS Streaming MOH Multicast.
The symptoms you are experiencing will help narrow down the problem. Tone on Hold- most likely IP Voice Streaming App service params need to be set to allow g729 + g711. For IOS MGCP gw- no mgcp/mgcp. You MUST configure ccm-manager music for IOS MGCP and IOS H323 gateways. Yes- I really do mean h323 gw here as well. If you are getting unicast MOH then it is a CCM configuration problem. You have not got m¹cast on the server, source or MRG. Or the MRG is not assigned. You may have accidentally placed a unicast MOH server in your MRG MRGL. If you are hearing silence/dead air/comfort noise- look into pim on relevant interfaces, max hops for the source within CCM, m¹cast routing enabled on routers. If you are sourcing MOH from flash (of an SRST rtr) then you should be spoofing on the identical ip address CCM believes to be the active stream. Place the MOH srvr in a g711u region/device pool and use the base ip address of the MOH server in the remote site MRGL. -- Vik Malhi CCIE #13890, CCSI #31584 Senior Technical Instructor - IPexpert, Inc. Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Questions regarding IOS Streaming MOH Multicast.
Hey Vik, Thanks. You got me thinking and I found the problem. As I was reading your email, I disregarded the whole issue of Multicast routing because I figured the server and the 6608 are plugged right in the same 6k chassis, so PIM wouldn't be needed. It didn't even occur to me until I was reading your email that PIM was absolutely needed here because the CM servers and 6608 are on DIFFERENT VLANS. I put multicast routing on R1 and the subinterfaces facing the ca6k and everything is working now. One more lesson that took WAY to long to learn but I probably won't forget it now :) Thanks to all for the input Scott On Fri, Jul 3, 2009 at 2:35 PM, Vik Malhi vma...@ipexpert.com wrote: The symptoms you are experiencing will help narrow down the problem. Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Lab 5A CSS BR1
Q1- BR1 phone calling another phone is not dependent on the CSS of the BR1 gw- the only reason you set the CSS on a gw is to route calls coming in from the PSTN to an internal destination. If BR1 phone 2 cannot call anywhere check the CSS on the ³device². Q2- css-internal on trunks / gateway is required to route calls coming in from pstn or via sip trunk/gk trunk to an internal destination. Q3- you must create a calling party transformation pattern of 5XXX with Calling Party External Number Mask included with mask set to XXX (or 7 x¹s). This should be placed into a new partition- the gateway should have a Calling Party Transformation Pattern CSS that can see this partition (or this can be set on the device pool). Q3 is a complex scenario that really takes a lot of understanding- the gateway digit manipulation override the RL which overrides the RP. By giving the gw visibility of the Calling Party Transformation Pattern we are in effect overriding Calling Number manipulation on the RP RL. Calling Name is still handled on the RP. -- Vik Malhi CCIE #13890, CCSI #31584 Senior Technical Instructor - IPexpert, Inc. Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] FW: Hardware phones with EZVPN
Very very unusual. To pinpoint this as a firmware problem can you try a call between CIPC and IP Blue and see what results you get. I have a vague recollection that people were suffering with 7961 phones registered to UCM but I¹m not 100% sure on that. The reason I¹m assuming the cause is the firmware load on the phone is because I¹ve done exhaustive testing on pod32 albeit with 7960 and 7962 devices. I¹m also assuming you have ample bandwidth- run a test from speakeasy.net and ensure your round trip delay is under 150ms. -- Vik Malhi CCIE #13890, CCSI #31584 Senior Technical Instructor - IPexpert, Inc. Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Lab 5A CSS BR1
Hi Vik, Thanks for your help. I got Q1 solved. There was something wrong with CSS because of left over configs from the previous task. On the Br1-MGCP phone, apart from fixing the CSS, I had to create a dial-peer to point to the BR2-CME: dial-peer voice 105 pots destination-pattern 3... no digit-strip port xxx to allow it to call to the BR2: I was just using IPExpert's PSTN configs, there are actually 2 other dial-peers: dial-peer voice 103 pots destination-pattern 32143... port 0/2/0:15 forward-digits 8 dial-peer voice 104 pots destination-pattern 32143... no digit-strip port 0/2/0:15 prefix +34 None of these dial peers match and i can't see any number expansion either to match so I use my own dial peer. Am I doing it right ? I still have not sorted out Q3 yet. Thanks for the help again. On Sat, Jul 4, 2009 at 2:53 AM, Vik Malhi vma...@ipexpert.com wrote: Q1- BR1 phone calling another phone is not dependent on the CSS of the BR1 gw- the only reason you set the CSS on a gw is to route calls coming in from the PSTN to an internal destination. If BR1 phone 2 cannot call anywhere check the CSS on the “device”. Q2- css-internal on trunks / gateway is required to route calls coming in from pstn or via sip trunk/gk trunk to an internal destination. Q3- you must create a calling party transformation pattern of 5XXX with Calling Party External Number Mask included with mask set to XXX (or 7 x’s). -- Vik Malhi – CCIE #13890, CCSI #31584 Senior Technical Instructor - IPexpert, Inc.
