[OSL | CCIE_Voice] publisher or subscriber first ?

2011-03-13 Thread voice boy

Hi,

I know that we should subscribe our devices to the subscriber as it is the
normal behavior also in real live

But I need to confirm if we'll use the no. 1 to be the pub or sub on these
points which won't affect the operation but I think they may cause loosing
points in the exam:

1. tftp-server ip addresses in the cucm dhcp server configuration
2. Presence gw-profile tftp-servers
3. Presence gateway, ithink it should be publisher
4. unity connection AXL servers and servers,, i think sub then pub --- and tftp
server: i think only pub
5. uccx cti-manager servers and jtapi and rmcm -- i think the first is pub then
sub and the other two is sub then pub

Sorry for the above details that i don't know a sequence to move on all
scenarios

Thanks for your help :) ___

Hi,

I need to confirm something that confuse me,,

If I'm calling from BR1-phone to HQ-PSTN
I'll have the call to route first from HQ-GW as local
then if failed,, it'll route from BR1-GW as national

the BR1 gateway is h323

My ask is that in both cases ,, while the call is ringing or connected
BR1-Phone display on the screen TO 912123942123
it is because I make the DM on the RL RG level

Is it a must to make it display TO 22123942123 ??? and to remove the "9" ?

if it is a must,, how to do that in this case ?

thanks for your help

Hello Erwan,

Thank you for contacting the IPexpert Technical Support Team.  We
are experiencing complications with Proctor Labs currently, so we never
received your After Hours Support page.  We can Telnet to the devices using
your credentials as per the output below.  Regardless of what your device
displays on the session page, you must first try to Telnet into each device
first to see if it is truly working and the labs loading for future reference.
We have been in the process of performing updates and modifications to our
Proctor Labs Session Page interface, so the displays may not always be correct
at this point in time for the power and status.  Thus, a critical first step
will always be to access each device on your end individually to determine the
actual status.  We will be overhauling our entire Proctor Labs site soon, but
you should always check all devices and disregard any errors on the session
page.  You actually do not
ever need web access at all, except to save and load configurations, which can
be done manually on your end as well.  You can also revert them manually with
the command:  wr er [enter] and then:  reload [enter] and then you can just
paste in the initial configs quickly with ease.  The configs can be obtained
from your IPexpert.com downloads section if you have purchased our products.
You can also revert each device and then load labs separately through the GUI
as well.  Please let us know if you do not know how to perform these
functions.  The web interface is completely separate, so this should never
prevent you from beginning or working on your lab.  You can implement
everything manually, so it is easy to do so and start your lab if there are any
issues, which we will always eventually resolve anyways.  Please keep in mind
that we provide all of these features as a convenience only, and that they are
not necessary at all during your lab
study time.  In the actual CCIE lab exam itself, you will not have any Html
access to these types of features at all, so pasting in configs and making the
changes manually is something that you may want to get in the habit of.  There
are no load lab or revert functions when you sit to take the exam, so preparing
and practicing in the exact same manner would be beneficial in helping to be
fully ready for the test.  I would personally perform all of these functions
manually if I were preparing for the lab so that I could ensure to be fully
prepared when it came to exam day.  I do plan on obtaining at least one CCIE,
and when I practice mock labs, I will be following these manual procedures so
as to not become dependent on extra functions that will not be available.
Please let us know if we may be of further assistance and do not hesitate to
contact us for any reason.  Thank you for choosing IPexpert.  We greatly
appreciate your business, and you
are a valued student of ours.  Take care and have a nice day.

Hi guys,

I have the rack rental session from 8AM to 4 PM. I am trying to connect to
proctorlabs rack and load initial configs. I keep getting an error on the web
page - JRun closed connection. Tried both Chrome and Firefox. Same issue.
Wondering if any one else is having the same problem now.

Thanks

Did you configure the no-reg after the gateway to GK registration? if yes
then you need to restart the gateway

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Swapping Configs

2011-03-13 Thread Hough, Earl
Are you using physical servers or are they installed on VMWare of some flavor
(ESX, Server, Workstation)?

Personally, I have all my base configs for the network devices (routers and
switch) stored on a local TFTP server, which I can copy down to my equipment
prior to a reconfig. I also have snapshots (using VMWare ESX) of each of the 5
application servers (Pub, Sub, CUC, CUPS, CUCCX) which I took after
installation, but prior to integration. So, basically I can roll back to a
default state with little effort. The one thing that this setup doesn't allow
you to do is have all of the pre-configs for a specific lab based on IPExpert
restored in short order. Meaning, I can't apply everything for, say, "Vol 2
Lab 7" as I don't have the VMWare snapshots which include any pre-configs for
the application servers which might have been done. But, short of that - it
allows me to quickly roll back everything to a state to either work on a new
workbook lab, or to try different scenarios of my own.

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Gatekeeper endpoint (DN registered)?

2011-03-13 Thread Hough, Earl
If you do a shut/no-shut on the gatekeeper do the endpoints still come back as
registering with GK? Doing the "no-reg both" on the number configuration under
the ephone-dn SHOULD do it.
