Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] MVA - CSS Selection
Hi All, Please clarify on this ? Thanks From: mgscip gpsvoiceexpe...@yahoo.com To: ccie voice ccie_voice@onlinestudylist.com Sent: Saturday, August 27, 2011 11:36 PM Subject: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] MVA - CSS Selection Hi All, I have doubt on MVA calling search selection. My understand on the below service parameters is Calling number matches the Destination number check the service parameter it will choose the CSS ( Trunk or GW , Line + Dest.Profile) If Calling number matches didn't match the destination number , it always choose the GW or Trunk CSS. Inbound Calling Search Space for Remote Destination: Calling Search Space for Remote Destination:This parameter specifies the calling search space (CSS) that Cisco Unified Communications Manager (Unified CM) utilizes to route an incoming call from a configured Remote Destination. Valid values specify Trunk or Gateway Inbound Calling Search Space (Unified CM uses the inbound calling search space of the trunk or gateway from which the call arrived) or Remote Destination Profile + Line Calling Search Space (Unified CM uses the concatenation of the calling search spaces on the line and Remote Destination profile associated with the remote destination that was matched). Calls that do not match a Remote Destination are not affected by this parameter because they always use the trunk or gateway inbound CSS. For calls that come from a Remote Destination (the calling party number matches the Remote Destination number), choose Remote Destination Profile + Line Calling Search Spaces to use those calling search spaces to route the call instead of using the Trunk/Gateway Calling Search Space. The digits that come from the trunk or gateway must be formatted in a way that can be dialed using the Remote Destination Profile + Line Calling Search Spaces. For me in both case it selects the Line + Remote Destination profile CSS .During my test kept the service parameter as Trunk or Gatway CSS. ___ For more information regarding industry leading CCIE Lab training, please visit www.ipexpert.com Are you a CCNP or CCIE and looking for a job? Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] SIP option ping
Hi Jose Depending on your IOS of your 2nd Choice voice gateway, why don't you reconfigure this as a CUBE? You Can use a loopback configured as a H323 voip interface and add this gateway to a RG make this 2nd choice in your Route List. You can then configure your SIP Trunk from CUCM to point to the CUBE LAN interface use this as your first choice RG in your Route List. You can then use preferences in your outbound dial-peers for your main destination-patten e.g. 0T or 9T. Depending on IOS revision again you can configure your Options ping. I'm pretty sure that if your SIP server referenced in your Outbound dial-peer to the Service Providers CUBE is unreachable, then the CUBE will respond to the CUCM with a 5XX error and the RL will automatically roll-over to the 2nd choice the E1 H323 GW Route Group. Kind Regards Stuart From: ccie_voice-boun...@onlinestudylist.com [ccie_voice-boun...@onlinestudylist.com] On Behalf Of José Manuel Garrido Malagón [josemanuel.garridomala...@gmail.com] Sent: Friday, August 26, 2011 9:42 AM To: Aman Chugh Cc: ccie_voice@onlinestudylist.com Subject: Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] SIP option ping Thanks for your answer Aman. Unfortunately this is not usefull to me because the router which connects to the NGN is not using dial-peers; let me clarify more the scenario: Primary path for the calls: A data router (non working as a GW) receives also the routes from the SBC in the NGN and the CUCM has configured a SIP trunk pointing to these routes, so when a call is made, the CUCM tells the IP phone to route the packets to the address of the SBC; so, using the default GW of the phone, it gets there and the call is progressed. Backup path: I have a GW (another router) with a E1 link configured and when the data router (or the SBC) is down I have to manually to change the Route List so the CUCM chooses the E1 link as the main path and the IP phone directs the call to this E1 link. So, as a resume, the E1 link (which has the dial-peers configured) is a backup, so the solution you kindly gave me it's not usefull for me. I'm afraid there's no way to fallback into the E1 backup link because it's not possible for the router to communicate to the CUCM that the link is down, as the router is a data router and not a GW which communicates to the CUCM. Regards 2011/8/26 Aman Chugh aman.ch...@gmail.commailto:aman.ch...@gmail.com SIP options ping is done on IOS dial peer which are for calls going towards CUCM so you can busy those out when they are not available. check this white paper for details on which versions it is available with. http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/voicesw/ps6790/gatecont/ps5640/white_paper_c11-613550_ps10536_Products_White_Paper.html Regards, Aman 2011/8/25 José Manuel Garrido Malagón josemanuel.garridomala...@gmail.commailto:josemanuel.garridomala...@gmail.com Hi, I have configured a SIP trunk linking to a NGN network and a gateway with E1 PRI links as a backup. The problem is that while the physical link or the connectivity to the SBCs is up, the CUCM doesn't detect the link as fallen (CUCM doesn't detect failure behind the SBC devices). I've read that exists the possibility of configuring SIP option ping in the CUCM which monitors the state of the link and if these pings are lost the CUCM falls to the backup link (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/8_5_1/ccmcfg/b06siprf.html). I have CUCM 7.1.5 and I don't see this option, even on the CUCM Administration Guide Release 8.0 isn't avaliable either, only on the 8.5 version of the CUCM I see it's possible to configure (basing myself on the Administration Guide). Am I right or there's a lower version of CUCM where the SIP option ping is avaliable? Is there any other option apart from this one, taking in consideration that I have the 7.1.5 version of the CUCM, (maybe some configuration on the gateway) ? Thanks, regards. Today's moral after reading this message.. Lab + # in subject = just a waste of time or aka troll. Please do not use the study list to share this information; you're just not doing any good by letting us know how big the test was or how complex you believe it is. I already know how big and complex they are (I've tried it twice). What you can learn from your experience is that you are just not prepared to take it.
