I read in the thread below I am using simple crossover cable (Ethernet

!!!
If your using an Ethernet cross over it won't work need T1 cross over 1--4,
2--5, 4--1, 5--2
http://www.ebay.com/itm/T1-Crossover-cable-3FT-/160570999135?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0hash=item2562c7015f

Usually you can pick one up at local computer store or ebay real cheap
depending on the length.

Hope this helps.

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] E1 configuration (Eliot Ngwa)

2012-02-14 Thread Emanuel Damasceno
Are you using the correct cables? I made my own cables. You should use pins
1, 2, 4, and 5 (as opposed to Ethernet cable which is 1, 2, 3, 6). It's
exactly what our friend Michael Sears explained: 1--4, 2--5, 4--1,
5--2.

Here is my config. It is working fine and I am using Ethernet crossover
(with using the pins described above) and it is working fine:

This is the config of the PSTN side.
card type t1 0 0
card type e1 0 3

network-clock-participate wic 0
network-clock-participate wic 3

interface Serial0/0/0:23
 no ip address
 encapsulation hdlc
 isdn switch-type primary-ni
 isdn protocol-emulate network
 isdn incoming-voice voice
 isdn outgoing display-ie
 isdn outgoing ie redirecting-number
 no cdp enable

interface Serial0/3/0:15
 no ip address
 encapsulation hdlc
 isdn switch-type primary-net5
 isdn protocol-emulate network
 isdn incoming-voice voice
 isdn outgoing display-ie
 isdn outgoing ie redirecting-number
 no cdp enable

controller E1 0/3/0
 clock source internal
 pri-group timeslots 1-3,16
 description # PSTN BR2 #

controller T1 0/0/0
 clock source internal
 cablelength long 0db
 pri-group timeslots 1-3,24
 description # PSTN HQ #

Now the Site side:

network-clock-participate wic 1
network-clock-select 1 T1 0/1/0

controller T1 0/1/0
 cablelength long 0db
 pri-group timeslots 1-3,24 service mgcp

interface Serial0/1/0:23
 no ip address
 encapsulation hdlc
 isdn switch-type primary-ni
 isdn incoming-voice voice
 isdn bind-l3 ccm-manager
 isdn bchan-number-order ascending
 isdn outgoing display-ie
 isdn outgoing ie redirecting-number
 no cdp enable

My Site BR2 is not up yet, btu the config will be pretty much the same as
T1, except for switch type e port numbers

I read in the thread below I am using simple crossover cable (Ethernet
crossover). This cable will not work. You need a T1 cross over cable:
 http://www.google.com/search?q=t1+crossover+cablehl=enprmd=imvnstbm=ischtbo=usource=univsa=Xei=3gP-Tp2AIpS5twf-ufXPBgsqi=2ved=0CF4QsAQbiw=1072bih=804

 !!!
If your using an Ethernet cross over it won't work need T1 cross over
 1--4, 2--5, 4--1, 5--2

 http://www.ebay.com/itm/T1-Crossover-cable-3FT-/160570999135?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0hash=item2562c7015f

Usually you can pick one up at local computer store or ebay real cheap
 depending on the length.

 Hope this helps.

Are you using the correct cables? I made my own cables. You should use pins 1,
2, 4, and 5 (as opposed to Ethernet cable which is 1, 2, 3, 6). It's exactly
what our friend Michael Sears explained: 1--4, 2--5, 4--1, 5--2.

Here is my config. It is working fine and I am using Ethernet crossover (with
using the pins described above) and it is working fine:

This is the config of the PSTN side.
card type t1 0 0
card type e1 0 3

network-clock-participate wic 0
network-clock-participate wic 3

interface Serial0/0/0:23
 no ip address
 encapsulation hdlc
 isdn switch-type primary-ni
 isdn protocol-emulate network
 isdn incoming-voice voice
 isdn outgoing display-ie
 isdn outgoing ie redirecting-number
 no cdp enable

interface Serial0/3/0:15
 no ip address
 encapsulation hdlc
 isdn switch-type primary-net5
 isdn protocol-emulate network
 isdn incoming-voice voice
 isdn outgoing display-ie
 isdn outgoing ie redirecting-number
 no cdp enable

controller E1 0/3/0
 clock source internal
 pri-group timeslots 1-3,16
 description # PSTN BR2 #

controller T1 0/0/0
 clock source internal
 cablelength long 0db
 pri-group timeslots 1-3,24
 description # PSTN HQ #

Now the Site side:

network-clock-participate wic 1
network-clock-select 1 T1 0/1/0

controller T1 0/1/0
 cablelength long 0db
 pri-group timeslots 1-3,24 service mgcp

interface Serial0/1/0:23
 no ip address
 encapsulation hdlc
 isdn switch-type primary-ni
 isdn incoming-voice voice
 isdn bind-l3 ccm-manager
 isdn bchan-number-order ascending
 isdn outgoing display-ie
 isdn outgoing ie redirecting-number
 no cdp enable

My Site BR2 is not up yet, btu the config will be pretty much the same as T1,
except for switch type e port numbers

Hello Experts,

I am watching IPExpert's video on demand on Multicast MOH.

Did I understand this right?

multicast moh 239.1.1.1 port 16384 if I have it like this, I have to
put ip pim dense-mode on my interfaces

multicast moh 239.1.1.1 port 16384 route 10.10.201.1 10.10.110.2 if I
have it like this, I DON'T have to put ip pim dense-mode on my interfaces

Could somebody please confirm?

Hi,

I am using the Call Redirect step; if the destination pattern comprises
digits, I have no problem redirecting the call.
If the destination pattern starts with *, e.g., *5001, I hear, like 3 short
beeps, and the redirect fails.

Can UCCX dial *XXX numbers?

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Multicast MOH

2012-02-14 Thread Boris
Afaik you never need multicast routing configured for the Moh from flash
because this traffic has TTL=1, so it wont traverse Layer 3 boundary.

This is why you need the route attribute in the moh statement.

Sent from my mobile device, sorry for typos.

multicast moh 239.1.1.1 port 16384 if I have it like this, I have to put
ip pim dense-mode on my interfaces

 multicast moh 239.1.1.1 port 16384 route 10.10.201.1 10.10.110.2 if I
have it like this, I DON'T have to put ip pim dense-mode on my interfaces

 Could somebody please confirm?
 Thanks

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Ebook Lab 4: Campus QoS Task 3.1 - 25% bandwidth cap per queue

2012-02-14 Thread chase mergenthal

When you configure campus QoS, by using Auto QoS; an input queue will be
created. This will prevent from the phone/trusted device from potentially
abusing the EF queue when the traffic crosses the WAN. (Assuming you are not
using NBAR to reclassify traffic sent across the WAN)

From the QoS SRND:
Shaped or Shared bandwidth weights can be assigned to a queue via the
srr-queue bandwidth shape and srr-queue bandwidth share
interface commands. Shaped mode weights override shared mode weights
and use an inverse ratio (1/weight) to determine the shaping bandwidth
for the queue. Furthermore, if shaped weights are set to 0, then the
queue is operating in shared mode. For example, the following interface
command srr-queue bandwidth shape 3 0 0 0 would shape Q1 to 1/3 of the
available bandwidth and set all other queues to operate in sharing mode.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3750/software/release/12.2_50_se/configuration/guide/swqos.html#wp1202482
If you configure a weight of 0, the corresponding queue operates in shared
mode. The weight specified with the srr-queue bandwidth shape command is
ignored, and the weights specified with the srr-queue bandwidth share
interface configuration command for a queue come into effect. When
configuring queues in the same queue-set for both shaping and sharing,
make sure that you configure the lowest number queue for shaping.

Subject: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Ebook Lab 4: Campus QoS Task 3.1 - 25% bandwidth
cap per queue

Task 3.1
configure campus qos
* egress media in the priority queue
* egress signal in the second queue
* do not permit any queue to exceed 25% of the total allowable bandwidth

Solution:

int f1/0/2

 auto qos voip cisco-phone
!--- adjust auto qos
int f1/02
 srr-queue bandw shape 4 4 4 4
 priority-queue out
 service-policy input XXX

Don't quite understand the solution here:

From Vik's explanation

I put an asterisks for the rate limiting requirement of 25% for each queue
because priority
queue command will allow Q1 to use 100% of the queue up to the service-policy
applied there.

However, the configuration of “4 4 4 4” means each queue is configured to not
exceed 1/4 or 25% of the bandwidth.

This para confuses me re queue and bandwidth:the PQ will get 100% of the queue,
but I thought that the srr shape won't be able to limit Q1, since PQ trumps
eveything else.

Furthermore the service-policy is an input policy, what does this have to do
with egress queueing?

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] CCIE Voice Five-Lab, lab1, Q9.1

2012-02-14 Thread Tomasz Pawlus
If i configure:

num-exp 2...$ 9001202552...

in CCIE Voice Five-Lab, lab1, Q9.1

instead of a separate dial-peer pots (with prefix 9001202552) to call from SC
to SA in SRST I have to wait timeout interdigit which isn't the case for a
separate dial-peer.

Is is possible to avoid timeout interdigit and dial immediately 2... extensions
in SA without changing this parameter under telephony-service?
If not, does it matter from the proctor point of view?

Kind regards,
Tomasz___

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] built-in bridge support for iLBC g729

2012-02-14 Thread Juan Lopez
can anyone confirm the phone built-in bridge does support g729? I'm running
it in my lab, no HW CFB are configured and I put all SW CFB in their own
MRG, to be sure they are not used:

admin:show perf query class Cisco SW Conference Bridge Device
==query class :
 - Perf class (Cisco SW Conference Bridge Device) has instances and values:
CFB_2 - AllocatedResourceCannotOpenPort = 0
CFB_2 - OutOfResources = 0
CFB_2 - ResourceActive = 0
CFB_2 - ResourceAvailable = 48
CFB_2 - ResourceTotal = 48
CFB_2 - SWConferenceActive = 0
CFB_2 - SWConferenceCompleted = 0
CFB_3 - AllocatedResourceCannotOpenPort = 0
CFB_3 - OutOfResources = 0
CFB_3 - ResourceActive = 0
CFB_3 - ResourceAvailable = 48
CFB_3 - ResourceTotal = 48
CFB_3 - SWConferenceActive = 0
CFB_3 - SWConferenceCompleted = 0

admin:show perf query class Cisco HW Conference Bridge Device
==query class :
 - Perf class (Cisco HW Conference Bridge Device) has instances and values:
no values are returned

Nevertheless, the barge function is working: barger and bargee use g722,
the 3rd party uses g729. same goes is 3rd party would use iLBC.

thanks!
