Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Hardware Conferencing with different codecs

2012-04-17 Thread Julien Krieger
Hi,

You're all good. Hardware conference bridge does the transcoding theirself.

2012/4/17 Ken Wyan kew...@gmail.com

We configure HW conf bridge this way

 dspfarm profile 1 conference
 codec g711u
 codec g711a
 codec g729r8
 codec g729ar8
 codec g729br8
 codec g729abr8
 maximum sessions 4
 associate application sccp
 no shut

Is it possible for different phones (which use different codecs as per
different region) to enter into a single conference using this conference
 bridge ?
Does hardware conference bridge does internal transcoding by itself or do
we need to configure another dspfarm profile for transcoding as well?

 Thank You

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] UCCX and Media Resources

2012-04-17 Thread Gurpreet Singh Kukreja
Hi Chris,

I would verify the following:

1) Region setting between HQ and Branch sites uses G.729.
2) All your CTI Route Points should show in HQ DP on the CM and the CCX.
3) The Media Resource (Xcoder) should be configured on the HQ router.
4) The codec selected on the CCX is G.711.
5) Your IP phones show in the correct Device Pool.

Last but not the least, make sure that the CTI Route point you dial should
also be in the HQ DP with an Xcoder in the MRGL of HQ DP.

Let me know if all the above stands true.

you see rtmt trying to allocate the HQ xcoder? (OOR incrementing or

you might try debug sccp all (on HQ gateway) to check

 1. Call manager's attempt to allocate a xcoder from HQ
 2. errors, if any, from HQ gateway, as to why the allocation is failing.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] cme extension mobility help

2012-04-17 Thread Joel Petralia

I have done the cme extension mobility lab and am trying to take what I have
learned and apply it to a job I have for a customer. If I shouldn't post a
question like this then please let me know or disregard.

I have a site where two users need to share a phone. They both have a
phone already and configuration for their phones are below. ephone-dn 27

the ephone-dn they have a primary and secondary number so my question
would be, can you build a user-profile with primary and secondary
numbers? Also, can I configure a logout profile matching the
configuration of one of the ephones? I believe what they want is ephone
27 to stay as it is (logout profile I guess) and then build a
user-profile matching dn 49 and ephone 49 so the user with this profile
can log in and out of ephone 27.

Hi Chase,

I am having the exact same issue. I had 2 hops configured for my Multicast
MOH-Server and CUCM MoH was playing mixed with Flash Moh.

I disabled pim dense-mode on the serial interface to fixed it.

Right now, MoH is working fine for PSTN Calls. But is not working for
internal calls. Did you figure this out?

Regards,

Makesure that your flash is having the moh file with correct name used. Apply
the command ccm-manager multicast-moh
In case still not working, we need to know who is the holdee ? Is it pstn or ip
phone ? What the codec used.

Post the output of show call active voice brief during hold.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] ordering directory services menu - solution

2012-04-17 Thread steven moran
there's been much information on this including needless deleting and
recreating of services - here is a good method that I found works 100% and
doesn't need a time wasting dip into the release notes.

in is the pkid

I then: run the following command to change the corporate directory
priority from 1 to 4;

run sql update telecasterservice set Priority=4 where
pkid=7eca2cf1-0c8d-4df4-a807-124b18fe89a4

restart the phone

this will set the priority of the service and change the order on the menu.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] SIP phones continuously toggling between registering and registered on UCM

2012-04-17 Thread Chris
Hi All,
I had an interesting situation today. I started LAB8. Auto-registered the
phones. This all worked fine, but SIP phones were continuously toggled
between registering and registered. I re-installed the VM to resolve the
issue, thinking this to be one of PCs specials.
However, has this happened to anyone or why could it happen. Would these be
symptoms of db-replication issues.
Best Regards
Chris

it works in my lab - I haven't tried it in the exam but it would really
suck if they did this, then you are stuck with creating the entire insert
either from the release notes or from the run sql select command edit the
returned string taking out the extra vendor and version headers like this.
It only takes a less than a minute.

run sql insert into telecasterservice (pkid, name, urltemplate,
description, nameascii, tkphoneservice, enterprisesubscription, enabled,

 Hi Steve,

 Does it work?
I remember trying to update this same stuff last year and apparently
the admin user had privileges for 'deletes' and 'inserts' but not for
 'updates.

 Great to see this!

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] SIP phones continuously toggling between

2012-04-17 Thread steven moran
I have seen a lot of these issues and others for both sccp and sip phones
when there are dbreplication issues (including during the exam)

go to RTMT and look at the DBreplication if it is not 2 2 4 (pub, sub,
cluster)

then do the following

on the sub
 utils dbreplication stop
on the pub
utils dbreplication stop
utils dbreplication cluserreset
utils dbreplication reset all

depending upon the size of the databse and the server this can be done in
10 minutes or an hour. I needed to do this in my last exam.
