All,

I just received confirmation from a friend at Cisco that they have decided to
grandfather in anyone with a CCIE Voice to CCIE Collab if you pass the CCIE
Collab Written Exam. Said this will be posted soon ...

Thank you to everyone that has not rolled over on this!

I'm very happy, because my next take is next Thursday.

Good luck, and good work to all!

Daniel,

First, let me touch on the most important point you have brought up:

Honestly, it's really great to see how everyone came together, spoke loudly,
and made a difference. Even if the decision isn't reversed, the past few days
really demonstrated how dedicated and passionate everyone is to their field
 and hard-earned certifications.

Absolutely outstanding! Everyone has done a great job of keeping this topic on
Cisco's radar. Keep it up!

Second, I am at the PBT in SJC. Rowan mentioned the CCIE but it was just an
acknowledgement that our message has been received. The right thing comment
was actually made by another person (name escapes me). Rowan may have echoed
the sentiment but no guarantees/promises were made. This isn't bad news. All
feedback we have received thus far has been a positive trend in the right
direction. Even if it has been incremental.

So, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Cisco will want to close this
down as fast as possible. Whatever the answer is, we can all be satisfied that
we refused to roll over on this. Again, the volume of support within the
community is quite impressive. Don't back off the throttle now. Keep pushing,
stay on message, and (as always) be polite.

Finally Cisco understood the mistake corrected it before further
complications begin.

One guy passed RS v.2 lab later passed RS v.3 lab finally passed RS
v.4 lab. He is a true expert in RS but not counted as a dual / triple CCIE
for partner status.
Now cisco had to offer dual / triple / quadruple CCIE status for single
track CCIE s as well.
Before things get complicated , luckily Cisco corrected the mistake.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] IPMA Assistant Console QoS

2013-06-06 Thread Martin Sloan
Hello,

I'm reading through the SRND on the IPMA Assistant console application and
it says that it marks all traffic as BE and that an ACL should be setup
along the path somewhere to remark that traffic (on port 2912) to DSCP 24.
I haven't come across this requirement in the practice labs and I'm
wondering, has anyone taken an approach to configuring this and do you have
any recommendations? Just a simple ACL on the port which the PC is
connected to, or don't even worry about it if it's not specifically asked
for in the QoS or IPMA tasks?

Thanks,
Marty

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] CUE AFTER SRST

2013-06-06 Thread Ivan Darío Sánchez Calderón
Hi everyone,

When I have cue integrated with CUCM and I make some voicemail test when
the gateway is in srst everything works fine, but when I come back from
srst the CTI RP and the CTI Ports don't register. I restart the cue, the
CTI service on CUCM but still shows unregistered, someone knows how to fix
this issue.?

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] H323 trunk no PLUS in EPNM

2013-06-06 Thread VanBenschoten, Brian
I know the + is stripped in the dial-peer on the gateway. (In the version of
IOS we're currently using for our blueprint)
I can't recall if CUCM actually sends it to the gateway however.

The solution stated is correct. Use Trans rules on the GW to add it back on.

Voice translation rules on the gateway. The Plus sign doesn't make it out of
CallManager. Do all your translations on the gateway.

Subject: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] H323 trunk no PLUS in EPNM

hi,

I set up H323 trunk from UCM to my PSTN router (as H323 GW)

- EPNM : +15052022XXX
- RP : check Use calling party Ext Mask

But when i see the call in PSTN phone, it did not have +1505202xxx, but only
15052022XXX

questions:
- is this expected ?
- and if we want +1505xx, what is the workaround ?

tks

 Daniel,

First, let me touch on the most important point you have brought up:

Honestly, it's really great to see how everyone came together, spoke
loudly, and made a difference. Even if the decision isn't reversed, the
past few days really demonstrated how dedicated and passionate everyone is
to their field and hard-earned certifications.

Absolutely outstanding! Everyone has done a great job of keeping this
topic on Cisco's radar. Keep it up!

Second, I am at the PBT in SJC. Rowan mentioned the CCIE but it was just
an acknowledgement that our message has been received. The right thing
comment was actually made by another person (name escapes me). Rowan may
have echoed the sentiment but no guarantees/promises were made. This isn't
bad news. All feedback we have received thus far has been a positive trend
in the right direction. Even if it has been incremental.

So, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Cisco will want to close
this down as fast as possible. Whatever the answer is, we can all be
satisfied that we refused to roll over on this. Again, the volume of
support within the community is quite impressive. Don't back off the
throttle now. Keep pushing, stay on message, and (as always) be polite.

 -Bill
