Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] MGCP troubleshooting
Hi, This was a stupid mistake while practicing IPX vol.2 lab #5.. on the pre-config it says all mgcp config is ready built-in and I was sleepy that night doing that lab, I didnt really fully checked it, the other day I was repeating the same lab, fresh and I caught a really basic mistake: My mgcp config was really everything there, it was registering but on the IPX proctorlabs INITIAL configs, the isdn bind-l3 command in just ONE site it was missing, yes, basic and stupid, you can easily see that doing a show isdn status, I dont know what the hell happened to me that night.. but making basic mistakes is good, it forced me to spend sometime learning over the basic overall config/structure for mgcp, I went beyond that, played with debugs, removed a few commands, tried to see each behavior for each type of config when something is missing.. even more familiar with the debugs now.. thanks, 2012/2/10 Rick Long rick.l...@ensi.com I've seen this behavior on a H323 gateway when a dial-peer was not set to forward the calls to Call Manager. Can you run a debug voice ccapi inout to see if your call is matching a dialpeer on your gateway instead of using MGCP to forward the call to Call Manager? If it is being processed by a dial-peer you may just need to issue an no mgcp mgcp command to re-associated the device with Call Manager. [OSL | CCIE_Voice] OT - UCM 7x bugs?
Hi, Often when doing labs over ucm 7, sometimes I notice specially when messing around with CSS/partitions, if you open multiple windows and for example: You have 5 firefox tabs open CSS-site-A css-B css-C css-D css-E And then you go window by window applying it and saving it, all at once.. I usually find partitions missing later on that CSS previously assigned. I care to check for dbreplication and issues like that, all running fine. is this a bug or something? it's terrible to have to go back at something you sure you've done correctly it just to fix a bug! -- Jeferson Guardia CCIE #28157 ___ For more information regarding industry leading CCIE Lab training, please visit www.ipexpert.com Are you a CCNP or CCIE and looking for a job? Thanks. I am in average doing 2 sessions per day in a row, trying to reproduce mini scenarios and get used and fast with technology, the IPX labs are helping so much! On the vol.2 level I am finding it amazing. Regards, 2012/1/29 Gurpreet Singh Kukreja tycoononway1...@gmail.com Hi Jeferson, If you're preparing for your CCIE VOICE Lab attempt, then i think practice it enough so that you remember them by heart. :). It saves a lot of time in lab if you remember them and time is all that matters there.. Since its an open book exam, try and get familiar with the SRND for CM as you can easily find URLs' in there as mentioned by some one earlier in this post. Just found it. Good deal!! :-) Cisco Unified IP Phone Service Configuration Add the Cisco IP Manager Assistant service as a new Cisco Unified IP Phone Service. Configure a name, description, and the URL for the Cisco IP Manager Assistant service. The name and description that you enter should be in the local language because it displays on the manager Cisco Unified IP Phone. For more information, see IP Phone Services Configuration in the *Cisco Unified Communications Manager Administration Guide*. Provide a URL by using the format http://server-ipaddress:8080/ma/servlet/MAService?cmd=doPhoneServiceName=#DEVICENAME# For example http://123.45.67.89:8080/ma/servlet/MAService?cmd=doPhoneServiceName=#DEVICENAME# Configuration Tips To provide redundancy for the Cisco Unified IP Phone Service, create a Cisco Unified IP Phone Service that uses the host name rather than the IP address. The host name in DNS should resolve to both Cisco Unified Communications Manager Assistant primary and backup IP addresses. The phone functionality for softkeys and filtering, as well as the phone service, will fail over automatically in the case of a failover. 2012/1/25 Boris K boris.k...@gmail.com hi mate, you can get IPMA and EM URLs from the CUCM Help page, just search for DEVICENAME UCCX Agent Login and IPPM URLs you need to memorise or remember shortcuts on Cisco site. Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] IPX vol1 Lab9a
Agreed. Thats why Ive been getting familiar with the SRND. There was a lab today on B-ACD, initially I almost freaked out.. but then after learning Vik`s methodology on getting the flash example from the Config Guide and understanding each command, how the applications fall under each other, it became fairly easy to do. On IPMA + EM, yes.. It will be better to practice both separately until you get confidence and then you can put the whole thing together, just like when you are learning a new technology into pieces and anxious to jump in on mocklabs.. exactly the same, this is not like sometimes you have to run before you can walk.. no you definetly need to walk first.. :-) Thanks everyone Back to my studies! 2012/1/25 Eliot Ngwa eliot.n...@gmail.com In CCIE Voice, there is just too much information out there to be able to remember every single command during the 8-hour lab. Instead of bookmarking a URL during your studies, it will be better to learn how to navigate to your needed section from the Cisco Doc support page: http://www.cisco.com/cisco/web/psa/default.html It is what we will have available during the lab On Tue, Jan 24, 2012 at 9:09 PM, Jeferson Guardia jefers...@gmail.comwrote: IPMA complex, too many steps.. but somehow I feel after practicing for a while I will get used to it. [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Mac OS X Lion Browser for CCM7
Hi, What browser you mac users work with to do ccm stuff? Ive noticed safari/chrome failing for a lot of small stuff on ccm7, such as when you are adding mgcp and inside the mgcp you have to go specific on a port slot, this didnt show up, I had to do IE (unbelievable) on vmware to get this working.. -- Jeferson Guardia CCIE #28157 ___ For more information regarding industry leading CCIE Lab training, please visit www.ipexpert.com Are you a CCNP or CCIE and looking for a job? Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] IP Blue (running multiple instances)
this has been solved - win 7 doesnt support multiple ip blues instances and it is official written on their website. I downloaded a very light Win XP image (250mb) from my company and had a new vmware machine where I`ll do all kinds of IE voice stuff such as phoneview / ipblue etc.. way to go! so bad win 7 doesnt to support but at the end .. the xp is running much more smooth in vmware fusion.
