2011-04-06 Thread Johnny Soong

I saw the same error today with regard to db replication from the callmanager
db rpl status unified report. Not all servers have a good replication status.
See the details.View DetailsServerNumber of Replicates
CreatedReplicate_State10.10.210.104124 - setup failed10.10.210.114124 - setup
failed
However when i read the following activelog
cm/trace/dbl/sdi/ReplicationStatus.2011_04_06_21_31_55.out file, i saw this:
SERVER ID STATESTATUS QUEUE CONNECTION

2 Active Local 0g_ucmsub_ccm7_0_1_11000_23 Active
Connected 0 Apr 6 21:27:57
This is very confusing. I know replication works in this case because i was
able to make changes on the phone. My conclusion is that the unified report is
not to be trusted. You have to test the replication by making change on the
callmanager. If it works, then it is good. That is my 2 cents.

That's why you must check this out as soon as possible when you are on your POD.
If you find that you cannot access your ccmadmin (and that it is not a routing
issue), or that you have a db replication issue, you must tell your proctor
immediately.

If you wait too long in the day, the proctor will probably thing that it is a

Johnny,

Next time, try the following
- On SUB : utils dbreplication stop

- On PUB : utils dbreplication stop

utils dbreplication clusterreset

I’ve used the clusterreset successfully when repair and reset don’t work

Hi Johnny,

Even if the utils dbreplication commands do not show what we are looking for
(2), does the replication work?

Try to create a new region on the pub and see if it has replicated to the sub.
Then try the following command on the sub to see if it worked : run sql select
name from region
If replication worked, you should see on your sub the newly created region

that troubleshooting section. You can still make updates to the publisher (and

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] callmanager datebasse replication issue with Publisher.

2011-04-06 Thread Johnny Soong

I think i found the issue. There is a mismatch on the Pub and Sub Callmanager
name. The names configured in the callmanager are CM_UCMSUB and CM_UCMPUB. The
names in the host file are UCMSUB and UCMPUB. Once i changed the names in
the callmanager and reissue the repair all command.
I saw the following:Subscriber:
admin:show perf query class Number of Replicates Created and State of
Replication==query class :
 - Perf class (Number of Replicates Created and State of Replication) has
instances and values:ReplicateCount - Number of Replicates Created =
412ReplicateCount - Replicate_State= 2
Publisher:admin:show perf query class Number of Replicates Created and State
of Replication==query class :
 - Perf class (Number of Replicates Created and State of Replication) has
instances and values:ReplicateCount - Number of Replicates Created =
412ReplicateCount - Replicate_State= 2
So the take away is to make sure the hostname match the actual names configured
in the callmanager.
One way to test it is to do utils network host [hostname configured in the
callmanager] not the hostname in the hostname file.If that is pingable, then it
is not an issue.

When the names are mismatch, unified report will report that replication is
not working. This is a known bug with callmanager 6.1.2. CSCsv21137
 Bug Details

Unified Reporting showing the Sub not reachable

Symptom:

When running Unified reporting
tool in 6.1.2 and specifically the Database summary report it reports one or
more of the subs not reachable.

You can confirm subs are indeed
reachable with 'utils dbreplication status' and seeing all the replicates.
'utils network connectivity' can also confirm connectivity between
nodes.

Conditions:
Subs can ping by
hostname and confimred all the tables are good and in sync. Issue occurs with
mismatch in case between hostname and database, example: server1 vs. SERVER1.
This defect is triggered by CURT using case sensitive search on
hostname.

Workaround:
set database and platform
servername to same case.

I ran into an issue with the Publisher. The DB Replication is broken. It is
showing 3 in the state status. When i tried to issue the utils dbreplicate
status. It said the following:Status cannot be performed when replication is
down on the publisher, or on a cluster with a single active node; aborting
replication status check operation. I did the utils dbreplic stop on the sub
and then on the pub. Then i did the utils dbreplic reset 10.10.210.10 on the
Pub. It didn't help. Replic is still showing 3 on the Pub. Sub is showing 2
which is fine. I can't issue utils dbreplic repair because the pub replic is
down. I rebooted both servers. It didn't do any good. Any suggestion?

with HQ Device Pool. The phone i am using to access voicemail is configured
with BR1 Device Pool. When i press the message button, I hear dead silence.
When i call a HQ Phone, i can hear the phone ringing. But i picked up the
call, i don't hear anything.

2011-02-23 Thread Johnny Soong

Changed the name to hqxcoder without the dash in both Telephony-service and
sccp ccm group association. Did a shut, no shut on the dspfarm profile. no
sccp and sccp. Still not register. Look at show dspfarm all. Shown it is
trying to associate. The question is why it trying. I also removed the
version from sccp ccm. it didn't help.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] voicemail aar issue.

2011-02-21 Thread Johnny Soong

I ran a test with voice mail port with aar. I was able to dial the voicemail
port # to get to unity connection system. But i can't dial the voicemail pilot
number directly even though the hunt pilot # is configured with aar group and
external mask. I think there is a bug with callmanager 7.01. Anybody ran
into this issue before?

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] FW: mobile connect on aar

2011-02-15 Thread Johnny Soong

I am working on AAR in lab 6a in ipexpert workbook 1. HQ phone is configured
with Single Number Reach to send the call to PSTN Phone 2123942123.Noticed
when i tried to call HQ phone from BR1 phone with CAC blocking the call, the
call got rerouted over to the PSTN to the PSTN phone 2123942123 via the remote
destination rerouting css. HQ phone didn't get the call, only PSTN phone did.
It seems that AAR doesnt work with Single Number Reach. To test the hypothesis,
I took out the aar css and aar group from BR1 phone and the call still got
routed over to the PSTN phone. Is there any workaround to get AAR to work with
Single Number Reach?
