You have the wrong license file. The Proctor Guide will walk you through where
to get the file from. You need to load the CUCME file versus the CM file which
is currently on the module. It will be something like software install clean
URL FTP://10.10.210.5 etc

The book reads as the following for the fields to populate:

If you look in the solutions guide tho is a custom field you create and
reference in your script. You can call it anything you want, but you have to
create it.

Hello,
I was working the new 5 labs lab 1. It asks to modify the screen for an UCCX
agent to see the number of calls in queue. The custom field that needs to be
created, per the DSG, is callinq

I looked in the admin guide and could not find this only the others listed
already.

Does anyone know where I can reference the available fields?

Have a great day!

Thanks,
Randall

Hi Steven,

- Under Telephony service, i would put the following commands:

config# telephony-service
url services http://IP OF CUE/voiceview/common/login.do
url authentication http://IP OF
CUE/voiceview/authentication/authenticate.do

The reason for the authentication command above is explained in the document
below:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity_exp/rel2_3/cliadmin/ch_vview.html#wp1070594

Configuring Cisco Unified CallManager Express for VoiceView Express:

The Authentication Manager is a network server that handles authentication
requests for IP phone tasks. The IP phone learns the authentication server URL
during the phone's registration process.

Cisco Unified CallManager Express (Cisco Unified CME) does not have an
authentication server. Cisco Unity Express starts an authentication server that
acts as the primary authentication server for VoiceView Express.

The Cisco Unified CME administrator must ensure that Cisco Unified CME
authentication server URL points to Cisco Unity Express authentication server.
The URL format is
http://Cisco-Unity-Express-hostname/voiceview/authentication/authenticate.do

+

- On Cue, i would make sure of this:

service voiceview
 enable
 session idletimeout 10
 end voiceview

- Make sure to do this under Telephony Service:

telephony-service
 no create cnf-files
 create cnf files

Then, reset the phones.

Please share your config and we can see what's going on.

Regards
Gurpreet

Did you configure the web server / CME web interface in the router?
ip http server
ip http authentication local
ip http path flash:GUI
telephony-service
dn-webedit
time-webedit
web admin system user admin pass cisco

I think only the first 1-3 commands are likely to be necessary to get it to
work but I've never tested for that.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] forward digits versus no digit strip

2012-09-06 Thread Steven Sarrick (ssarrick)
Just making sure I don't run into any issues/caveats. I know there is more
than one way to skin a cat. That being said. If I have a dial-peer where I
want to include the dialed digits plus prefix additional am I hurting myself or
walking into a later problem if I use forward digits all along with the prefix
instead of no digit strip plus the prefix. In the solution guide it uses no
digit strip but I am in the habit of forward digits all – I have not seen any
issues but just looking for potential scenarios.

Example

dial-peer voice 2002 pots
 translation-profile outgoing 4to164
 destination-pattern 3...
 port 0/0/0:15
 forward-digits all
 prefix 001408387

Versus

dial-peer voice 2002 pots
 translation-profile outgoing 4to164
 destination-pattern 3...
 port 0/0/0:15
No digit-strip
 prefix 001408387

I believe it to be well worth it. I think its on sale right now too, or at
least it was. I know people who have used them personally and passed so that
should give you a good indication. In the same breath, I don't think they are
a replacement for the other items you mentioned. For example, I think the vol2
labs get more practice with Globalized calling more than the 5 lab workbook
does. Also QOS seem to hit harder in Vol 2. The 5 lab book hits on more
troubleshooting like you may see in the lab as well. Each has its pros – no
cons that I can think of!

I've subscribed my phone to the voiceview service and can get the
authentication url to show on the phone.
I login in with username scphX (thats the username) and the pin, but I get
 login failed everytime.

Can anyone help me understand where the voiceview app is referencing for
 authentication?
Does it change if the CUE module it integrated to CME or CUCM ?

 Thanks

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] FileOpen for iPad

I am using it as well. It was not working over the weekend but an email with
support was answered early Monday and a change to the server fixed it. Used it
last night to read through some labs while watching playoff hockey!

Hello

FYI - FileOpen is now available for iPad. It works great for your IPExpert
