I was able to just uncheck the enable box on the Enterprise services, set a single phone to internal and set another to both. I created the following file as an XML in the directory c:\inetpub\wwwroot CiscoIPPhoneMenu MenuItem NameMissed Calls/Name URLApplication:Cisco/MissedCalls/URL /MenuItem MenuItem NameReceived Calls/Name URLApplication:Cisco/ReceivedCalls/URL /MenuItem MenuItem NamePlacedCalls/Name URLApplication:Cisco/PlacedCalls/URL /MenuItem MenuItem NameCorporate Directory/Name URLApplication:Cisco/CorporateDirectory/URL /MenuItem PromptSelect a directory/Prompt /CiscoIPPhoneMenu I then tried the directories button on the phone, it show No Services on the one pointed to internal and showed the once on this xml file properly. Voicemail is functional on both phones. Looks like we have a winner for No Services Configured So I wonder if we need to create a custom message what we would do to keep voicemail working? Bill On Sat, Nov 17, 2012 at 8:28 PM, Bill Lake whl...@gmail.com wrote: Pixar Perfect's method can not create a custom message on the single phoneinstead of No Services Configured. That is the goal of my method, being able to provide a custom message instead of the standard one. His method also says to restart IIS, I have never had to do this for my method to work, I just drop the files in the wwwroot directory and it works. I have practiced this several times and never had any issue. His method also puts the menus in the wrong order. I am sure the Corporate directory is the last in the list normally. So with the requirement being able to create a custom message I will stay with mine. If Pixar Perfect or someone else can confirm that the messages button can still retrieve voicemail on the single phone pointed to internal in his method then I might favor that over Viks even with the drastically longer time required to configure it, as I am pretty sure they break the messages button. I am not so sure that if you delete all the Enterprise services that the messages button still works but I have never tried it. Hopefully someone can confirm this as I do not have lab time to try it at this time. Bill On Sat, Nov 17, 2012 at 6:31 PM, Rob Grimes gri...@ymail.com wrote: Hi Bill, If you set the phone to use 'External URL' doesn't that disable the 'messages' button on the phone? I think Pixar Perfect has the correct method: 1) make a directory.xml file using the IP Phone Services document from cisco.com 2) delete the Missed, Placed, Corporate, Placed and Received from the Phones IP Phone Services page *** Deleting the services in the 'Phone Services' we are making the 'internal' source blank - i.e. no services configured 3) Setup the EP for Services to Both Update the URL to http://x.x.x.x/directory.xml where x.x.x.x is UCCX IP ***Setting EP services to 'both' ensures that the phone will use our custom list for directories and also keep the Voicemail button working. If you set this parameter to 'external', what happens to the Voice Mail Service? 4) Upload the directory.xml to the IIS server on the UCCX, restart IIS ***Creating and uploading the xml file to UCCX gives control over the menu content/order. It also allows for multiple configs - e.g. different menu's at SiteA and SiteB, etc. 5) on SA Phone 1 page, setup the Services to Internal, Reset all phones ***We have already deleted all the internal directory services (step 2), so any phones that are set to 'internal' will return a message 'no services configured'. Which meets the requirement.
